Sure it is.
Only if it applies!
Sure it is.
I notice that neither source you've provided refer to her remarks as racist. Only you do that. Do you have a source referring to the remarks as racist, or is it just you?
“There are no two ways about it,” she wrote. “Not only were they insensitive in matters related to class and race; they demean the values to which I hold myself and which I offer as a member of this community.”

Tell me eco, who would be an accepted source by your standards, for determining if Chu's comments are racist?
Doesn't call it racist.
Only if it applies!
Do you say the same thing about "nigger"? Only if it applies?
Are you kidding me? A self described "matter of race" is racial which is synonymous with racist. I suppose calling someone "black scum" or "Asian filth" is not racist to you either. Get real.
No. If she is good, she should stay. But it is rather naive to use language that might aggravate some group or another, if you are in public view.
Don't worry about me.
Just find a source that calls it racist, or admit it's not.
If she had referred to trailer park culture as "white culture", that would be bigoted. But she didn't do that.
You're the one asking for a 'source' who has determined that her comments are racist. If I provide a source that you don't like, you're surely going to attack it. So give me some clue as to what you're looking for here.
Do you need a source to tell you what to think? Sounds like it.
She used the term 'white trash'. If she'd said 'black trash', or 'trashy black people', would you consider that racist?
No I don't believe she should be fired. Her Yelp reviews were done on her private time and does not reflect on Yale itself. No matter what anyone says. What a person does on their own private time and while not on the job does not equal automatically associate with their job/business. Let her be.
I have no idea what her job performance has looked like, but she comes across as overly hostile to people of a certain race. As long as that race is white, then she's a perfect fit for institutions of higher learning in 2017.
"Insensitive to race" is not racist. Find a source that calls it racist.
"White trash" refers to poor, trailer park culture, white people; it doesn't refer to all white people. Are you intentionally misconstruing the term and making false equivalences because of an agenda, or do you just not understand the difference?
I post as Totally Texas White Trailer Trash and my Zip Code - so what do you think? The term "trailer trash" is not racist but the term "white trash" is racist - hell, even you should be able to see that trailer is not a racial reference and that white is. I notice that you did not address the terms "black scum" or "Asian filth" - why, exactly, was that?
Just show me a source that refers to it as racist. Otherwise, we can only presume you've pulled that out of your ass in an ignorant attempt at playing the race card.
I'm not concerned with what I think. I'm concerned with what you claimed. This is a debate website. Back up your claim with a source.
"Black trash" or "trashy black people" would presumably refer to all black people. "White trash" does not refer to all white people, it's a term with specific meaning.
You know that. You pretend not to so you can dishonestly play the race card and the victim card.
Whites are not a disadvantaged minority. She in no way contributed to disadvantage or privilege. Her comments do no harm at a societal level.
Did she claim whites are inferior?
It is derogatory.........................Nuff said.
I guess you think it is OK for the head of a school to promote a environment of demeaning, disrespectful, and deprecatory attitudes?
