If they didn't, there wouldn't have been "Vietnam" as it has been divived into 2 countries. History of 4000 years of Vietnam would be erased forever.

No it wouldn't. That's like saying that Korean history has been erased because there are two Korean states.

Indeed. The country Korea has been erased from existence. It doesn't exist anymore. You want that happen to Vietnam as well?

Uh.....yes it does.

Where is it now? Where is its capital? Who is its president? There are only South Korea and North Korea, which are 2 seperate, different countries occupying the land used to belong to Korea.

The Korean peninsula.

Seoul.

Moon Jae-in.

So Korea has never been divided then? So what's your point when comparing it to Vietnam?

Korea is still a country. Vietnam would still be a country even if the communist thugs hadnt begun their campaign of terrorism.

Korea is two countries, slave North and free South. Vietnam is one unified nation with Ho Chi Minh city as its capital.

I was unaware the Constitution of the United States applied to Vietnam

Once South and North Vietnam became seperate countries, it was no longer "treasonous" for South Vietnamese to fight against the northern invaders. On the other hand, the Viet Cong members who were southerners did commit treason against South Vietnam.

Can't you keep your fact straight? Is it "seperate countries" or "a country"?

Currently it was one country. Previously it was two countries.

For an attempt at a "gotcha" that was incredibly lame.

By whom the country become a whole again? Those treasonous rebels in the South?

Yep. Better them(who didn't actually commit treason) than the communist thugs who propped up Pol Pot.

Except that those traitors didn't want the country to become a whole again. And creating another government without central government's permission was treasonous.

Ah, so you've moved on to another failed line of attack have you? The problem is that the "central government" has no authority over South Vietnam.

Because a bunch of rebels were preventing it from executing its authority, obviously.

Because the communist thugs didn't have any authority over the area, and they sent terrorists to murder the people of that area.

Who was SVN to decide if the central government have any authority over the area? Were they given the power by the majority of Vietnamese? Or did they defeat the Frenchs to obtain it? Or what?

Korea is still a country. It currently encompasses the southern half of the Korean penisula.

So being "encompassed" in the souther half and losing control of the rest of the territory are good things for a country like Korea?
