He's demonstrated that he's a danger to the U.S. on so many occasions, in so many creative ways, that he deserves the award, for sure.

Personally I think there should be a minimum requirement for candidates, like there are for people who serve in areas of national security. They should pass background investigations, finance investigations, and psychological screening, at a minimum. I mean, my wife wrote software for a military contractor and they did all that, why would we not do that for the highest office in the land, that has access to most any classified data, nuclear codes, etc.? Trump would fail the psych eval, and possibly fail the "blackmail risk/financial conflicts of interest" evaluation.

It's not like he was competent and then suddenly went crazy....he should have been stopped at the door by the Republican party.

Would need a Constitutional Amendment for that.

Don't get me wrong - I suspect there will be ample legal basis for impeachment with Obstruction of Justice on that list.

My personal opinion however is that Trump must be removed today and barring that, ASAP before he ruins this country and harms the American people more than he already has and I really don't care what the reason is or the exact methodology used to achieve that goal as long as its legal.

You are still very very embarrassed that your party lost the 2016 race, huh.

Is being an arrogant, not too bright, mentally delusional, authoritarian leaning, serial lying, incompetent asshole who is in danger of ruining the nation and hurting the American people after holding the office illegitimately a high crime or a misdemeanor?
It is , hay, typical conservative-deplorable behavior, with , I suspect, ADD, market . ..
NO crime , a high level of tolerance is necessary ..

Trump can be impeached for any reason no matter how petty.

That's true. There is no legal standard. The Clinton impeachment started as an investigation into a land deal and wound up, 40 million tax dollars later, with a little white lie about a BJ involving a consenting adult.

IOW, if the house wants to impeach and the senate agrees, they can make it happen. On the other side, they can choose to ignore anything they want.

Should Trump be impeached? *WARNING*! If you vote yes, you have to say specifically what offense he committed that he should be impeached for.

I voted no because I want Trump to continue destroying himself not become a martyr. If we are lucky, he'll take the GOP down with him.

I voted yes but I voted yes because a witch-hunt impreachment will increase Trump's popularity as he becomes a sympathetic figure to the public. Trump has broken no laws.

lolz. I don't think Trump is getting more popular. In fact, two of my close friends in real life are or rather were Trump supporters. Now they just shake their heads any time I ask what they think of him. Last I knew my dad was still hanging on though.

Trump admitted to obstructing Justice and his lies are obviously a cover up. If he wasn't directly involved he should point out those who were. Why he covered for Flynn is anybody's guess.

I haven't seen anything that would warrant impeachment of Trump. Trump is about as political unsavvy as anyone could ever be. He's dumb as dirt. He's falls head first in every trap the Democrats set for him. He is his own worst enemy. He knows nothing about Washington and its inner workings and his opponents take every advantage of that. Political wise, Trump is out of his league. Substance wise, policy wise, that remains to be seen. But being naive as all get out when it comes to the political inner workings of Washington is no reason for impeachment.

No. I'm not saying he's a good president, or even competent.

He won the election. If the American people want him, they can have him.

It's different if he colludes with Russia, which has yet to be proven despite the rumours flying around.

I don't really have a right to pitch in because I'm Canadian, but from my perspective you guys voted him in on a system that seems to have worked pretty damn well for the past few centuries.

You are still very very embarrassed that your party lost the 2016 race, huh.

Not as embarrassed as your party is about who actually got elected.... but, that isn't the point anymore. We are now living in the present and dealing with a POTUS that can't do the job.

I want him to be impeached. I believe he will be impeached... eventually. Right now there's not enough or the right thing to make that happen, IMO. In due time.

Some of the issues out there right now have the potential to explode into something impeachable, but none are there as of right now. At least what is public knowledge.

Hey now... he hasn't ruined the nation yet. :2razz:

So basically, you've only wanted an impeachment because you don't like Trump. It was Stalin who said "Find me the man and I'll find you the crime". At least you've acknowledged the left's desire for totalitarianism.

We have so many laws that some guy wrote a book saying the average American commits an average of three felonies per day. I'm sure that Mr Trump falls in there somewhere, too.

I have the book and started it, but it's really dry and I couldn't finish it.

Pretty soon only the deplorables will approve of him. Oh wait that's already the case.

Yes, it could be....

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/18/opinion/impeachment-trump-constitution.html

The purpose of impeachment is not to prosecute a crime as much as it is to protect America from a bad leader. It is a political event rather than a legal one.

He should be impeached as he is woefully unfit for office and consistently puts his personal interests ahead of the country. He should be impeached over emoluments, at the very least.

I cannot see the Reps impeaching just because Trump is a bad leader. Even if it should happen, and I believe it should, I just don't see that happening. I can see them impeaching over a crime, however, as long as the crime is bad enough and undeniable.

He will get impeached and it will be because of obstruction of justice.

That and general f****** stupidity.

But being that he is such a political idiot, we may never get to see if his agenda is good or not.

My party? I am unaffiliated. However I am delighted that a non-establishment politician won. And so far, I think he is doing a great job. One example is an originalist justice confirmed to the US Supreme Court.

Should Trump be impeached? *WARNING*! If you vote yes, you have to say specifically what offense he committed that he should be impeached for.

How can the poll question be answered? The only rational answer is not at this time because there is zero evidence he has committed any offense that is even remotely impeachable.

The snowflakes, numbnuts, and other Trump haters won't care though. They don't like him and they want him to be destroyed.

They would have squalled their lungs out if a special prosecutor had been appointed to investigate Obama or Hillary. But they approve of a special prosecutor appointed that they see as their best way to punish Trump. Even if the prosecutor finds nothing on the Trump administration which I suspect will be the case, the very fact that one is appointed is sufficient evidence that there is guilt in the minds of those who hate him.
