He's been in office how long?

Hey, I was around for the GW Bush days.....all eight years of heaping scorn on the man. You know who invented "fake news", some guy who got a picture of the president savoring a tall glass of ice tea....it went viral and the left lost their mind posting it to "prove" he was a lush.

And then we had the Clinton administration.....

But seriously? Reagan shouldered more bull****, lies and backstabbing AND got shot.

He never complained once.

This guy has not reached the age of maturity yet, is more concerned with what is being said about him than what the country needs and is a cowardly baby, bitching every time someone makes a joke about him.

I wouldn't follow this cry baby into a Nordstrom's closing out sale. Americans should be ashamed of his actions

GW Bush on the Dixie Chicks...

"The Dixie Chicks are free to speak their mind. They can say what they want to say ... they shouldn't have their feelings hurt just because some people don't want to buy their records when they speak out ... Freedom is a two-way street ... I don't really care what the Dixie Chicks said. I want to do what I think is right for the American people, and if some singers or Hollywood stars feel like speaking out, that's fine. That's the great thing about America."

DeeJay Trumpykins on Meryl Streep...

"Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn't know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a Hillary flunky who lost big."

The guy's a whiny, coddled trust-fund baby. No class.
I'm sure the Coast Guard grads were inspired by his example.

Why was he talking about how poorly he was treated at this graduation ceremony? Did he just start ranting about himself or something?

I thought his comments were wildly inappropriate at the ceremony .

This is their day, not yours.

He did talk about those things. you need to listen to the entire speech.

WATCH: President Trump addresses Coast Guard graduates | PBS NewsHour

So? That is not what the message is when he starts whining about himself and how mean the world it towards him. This should have been all about the people who graduated and not about himself or how terribly he is being treated because he could have realized how the press would be watching his speech. And he could have helped himself by acting like a president and not like a whiny little orang terror. Because than there would not have been any negative press about this speech.

He always creates his own bad press when he does stupid stuff like this.

Or is he being his whiny little self?

Trump to graduates: 'No politician in history... has been treated worse' - CNNPolitics.com

This is what Trump said in New London, Connecticut, at a US coast guard graduation ceremony.

Again, he is playing the victim. In the Netherlands we would call him a "Calimero" politician because Calimero, the cartoon bird always said: "They are big and I is small and that is not fair, oh no!" (the grammatical error is correct as this is how it was done in the cartoon in which he starred). Where Calimero/the politician always whines and complains because Calimero felt that people where mean to him because of things outside of his control (even though in reality Calimero was being criticized for his own wrongdoings, which he was never able to recognize).

Trump is like that, always complaining how dishonestly he is being criticized, even though he is in fact the one creating the reasons for the "dishonest" criticism.

But even if you agree that he is picked upon by the left wing media, do you agree with Trump that he is the most badly and unfairly treated politician EVER?

First of all, I usually dismiss these polls that present misleading, biased choices and I think you should be ashamed for daring to present this one. However, since you DID include a "other" choice, that's what I selected.

Now...any fair-minded person...any person not biased either against Trump, for Trump, against the Democrats or for the Democrats would HAVE to agree with what Trump said, though I'm not sure about the "history" part. He certainly is the most badly and unfairly treated politician in MY memory...and I thought Reagan and GWB were treated badly. What they endured is nothing compared to what Trump is enduring.

Julius Caesar, Abe Lincoln, and JFK come to mind as having been treated worse.

Trump vilifies the media to discredit them...and to make himself more believable. But apparently, it's not working as well as he would like and he just comes across as a paranoid, thin skinned boob.

Did you listen to the entire speech? I did.

So what? That is not the issue, this is about Donald Trump using a speech about the coast guard to make a political message about how poorly he is being treated. He could have spoken 99% about the coast guard but a person with a tiny bit of intelligence would have realized that if he used this speech to make comments about how bad he is being treated and how dishonest the media is, this would be what the news would be about.

The media cannot help it that they president is a media buffoon who does not know when to make whiny statements like that. He should have done that at a political rally and not at a graduation speech.

Talk about Irony. I hated Reagan when he was in office. Since then my view has changed, but when it comes to taking a hit and getting up off the ice again, my guy is Reagan. How they ripped into that man was an abomination, the joke about his age got so big the network had to tell Carson he was loosing viewers as people were tired of it.

They beat up his family, especially his estranged son, and he never made a speech that one of the major dailies didn't crap on.

And he never complained.

Now imagine if Trump were to be shot and wounded. What would we be hearing? With Reagan it was [to the surgeons] "I hope you're all Republicans".

Reminds me of what nearly happened to FDR on a trip to a war conference. A American destroyer accidentally fired a torpedo At the Battleship FDR was on. The torpedos missed but it was a close call.

Wherever that destroyer went afterwords other ships jokingly sent messages saying "don't shoot! We are Republicans!"

Well, after Iran-contra Reagan probably deserved some of what he got but there's no denying, in retrospect, the huge influence he had on American politics. Before Reagan and Goldwater, there were powerful liberals in the GOP but since then liberal Republicans are like hen's teeth.
And yeah, his family took unfair heat. I remember Nancy Reagan and "Just say 'no'!" being the butt of some pretty cruel jokes.
Reagan, whatever else anyone thinks of him, had class.
As for Trump being shot, I don't think he has that kind of gravitas. Ain't worth the bullet, in other words. Some Squeaky Fromme whacko with an empty gun, maybe...

@realDonaldTrump
The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!
3:48 PM - 17 Feb 2017

And he wonders why he takes a beating

I don't know about the worse ever, but most of the problems he's facing are of his own creation. For example, he picks a fight with the news outlets by declaring print media as "enemies of the people" and "fake news". Not smart particularly when you need the media to clean up your image.

If he'd just keep his mouth shut and stay off Twitter...

Trump is treated harshly, but mostly he's bringing that upon himself with the way he behaves. There have been politicians treated far more harshly in our history. The Jackson/Adams election cycle was particularly harsh.
