Which of the two do you think is more likely the motivation behind Trump Administration leakers?

The way I see it is picture yourself working in the Trump Administration. You see this incompetent orange haired walking personality disorder in action every day. You love your country and seeing what is going on is scaring you to death. So you feel like its your duty as a patriot to get word out and let the nation know what is going on.

Is that the same reasoning you gave when Obama was president?

If that were the case, why would they leak information which harms the USA and our allies?
The reason it's "unprecedented" is, leftist lunacy is a festering disease that is getting worse and worse.

We didn't have anything near this kind of leaking when Obama was president. Its totally unprecedented.

That was Trump that leaked information that harmed the USA and our allies. The Washington Post did not publish much of what Trump handed to the Russians.
Moreover, these leakers are coming out of a Republican Administration, hardly a pack of leftists.
Like WikiLeaks? Agreed, the leaks stopped the most corrupt, criminal politician of my lifetime, yay for leaks. The way I see it is picture yourself working in the Trump Administration. If I have to pick between those two, then I pick the first choice.
That was clearly evident in his first few weeks in office, where arguably any President is just getting organized...and yet we had leak, after leak, after leak of alleged faux pas, mistakes, and "collusions."
All from "anonymous sources close to, inside, or having recently left" some unnamed agency or other.

TL;DR
The leakers are mostly law abiding people who are disgusted by President Trump. They are civil servants who perceive, through their daily work of carrying out their assigned duties, incompetence and a disregard for American laws and traditions.
They are taking huge risks in spite of possible consequences which include arrest, penalties, loss of job and loss of seniority or pension, which could affect them and their families for the rest of their lives.
My guess that some motivation was blowback. Trump insulted the intelligence community professionals who are uncovering evidence in the ongoing investigations. They will return the favor in kind, out of pride in their profession. For a president to repeatedly publicly berate members of the intelligence community who are honest and forthright in their work, to protect him and our country from all enemies, foreign and domestic, was behavior unbecoming of any President and in hindsight, highly ill-advised.
Others have a conscience. They heard and saw things in the course of their work that caused an internal conflict with their internal values and ethics. They took an oath to their government to protect it from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Not loyalty to a man. They want truth, no matter where it leads, and they believe the American people need to understand what is going on with the Trump administration, from their insider viewpoint.
The likelihood that someone would take these extreme personal, legal, and financial risks to spread false information or fake news because of partisan bias is much lower.
Finally --- Aren’t some of the leaks coming from Trump personnel themselves, as evident from the specificity and exclusivity of the situations and circumstances described in some news reports? (and which, incidentally, are not being convincingly refuted by the WH)
Why would anyone on the President’s team share derogatory information? It is safe to assume all Trump personnel were vetted for loyalty to the President.
Could Trump appointees have a different motivation than the career civil service employee leaker? Perhaps one or more members of Trump's WH team are alarmed at the way things are being done, and want to gum up the works. Maybe Trump insulted them or their work. Their risk in leaking is higher than for a career civil servant. Perhaps even someone like Kellyanne Conway??
