The topic that prompted this question is Trump recently threatening to cancel all press briefings. This is an assault on the 4th estate, IMO. But, Trumpers think that the 4th estate deserves to be punished for besmirching Trump. So.. which is it? Who's the bigger liar?

Trump or the Media?

In this corner, you have Trump, clown of all clowns, telling America he wasn't going to cut Medicaid, that Mexico will pay for the Wall, that he fired Comey for <insert explanation here>.

In the other corner, you have the FAKE NEWS media, with countless anonymous sources and criminal leaks, they ran the golden shower story, and did some other mean things too.

I don't know. If you disregard, or at least take with a grain of salt, stories that originate from an anonymous source, then the media is acceptably accurate.

The problem is even known sources, on the record, including POTUS, can't even agree on what is going on in the White House. They are about as reliable as the anonymous sources.

Where's the option that they are both liars? Why put forth and obviously partisan poll? Why do you think you should be taken seriously by anyone other than your fellow lefties if you can't put forth an unbiased poll? It is no secret that the public hasn't trusted the media in decades. Real scientific polls show that time and time again. I may stand corrected. Did you actually vote the media is the bigger liar?

It also comes down to the definition of 'liar'.

If you mean how often something is said thinking it is true and then corrected or amended with new information, I don't know.

If you mean deliberate intent to mislead, deceive, misrepresent, obfusicate, etc. the media is the worst offender hands down.
 
Why does it have to be one or the other? This is a trick question. add neither or both.

The media wins anyway by far. Trump is one guy. The media puts out thousands of stories in the same amount of time.

The sheer volume of the numbers overwhelms in moments. No one could keep up.

I think he should have done that from day 1. The media does not convey what Trump is trying to tell the people but twisting it into hype and sensation to make money. The president has no obligation to support the media. I like a president that speaks to the people over some polished liar articulating a politically correct farce.
 
The media are out of control, running amok in a smear campaign against a newly elected president. Exaggeration, misrepresentation, sensationalism, these are what the news media have shown themselves to be about. The Fourth Estate is defunct as a responsible source of objective news. It's a disgrace and a disaster for America.
 
Trump is a person. The media is not so its a ridiculous question. No contest. Trump.
 
There is no "both" option.

So, the Media are Democrats now? This is hardly a scientific poll. I find it hilarious that conservatives in this thread are bitching about having to make a choice because they know Donald Trump is a giant liar.

1. Trump is known all around that he has lied more than any other president. That IS a fact!

2. Granted some news orgs may exaggerate a bit. But their job is to report to the people the FACTS as it is know.

I just read that the W.H. is now in a melt-down mode.

Now and for a long long time.

Technically they are the last bastion of the democrat party that has power.

That is not a good thing. No party having all the power is a good thing. Democrats in power for the last 8 years have left us with the array of problems that are being addressed now.
Republicans with all the power won't be much better beyond undoing all the wrong turns from before.

It used to be the media was an arm of the dnc. Now the dnc is an arm of the media.
