Do you support the AHCA passed by the House GOP?

Do you support the AHCA passed by the House GOP?

Pretty straightforward answer ...

Republicans who support this bill are going to hell. That much can be said out of hand. However, anybody else who supports the bill on the basis that it will spell doom for the Republican Party in 2018 are heading to a much deeper and darker circle.

Pretty straightforward question. This is supposed to be the legislative achievement of the House GOP thus far, so what do we think?

There's a pretty succinct overview here: Here Is What's In The House-Approved Health Care Bill.

The ACA is not perfect, but the AHCA is a disaster.

Of course, it sounds like the Senate is going to completely ignore it and write their own bill, so... we'll see what survives.

The Senate version will pass when people mistakenly breathe a sigh of relief at the realization that it is 1/6 less Draconian than the House version.

But what if the backlash ultimately puts single payer on the table? 1 step back, then 2 steps forward.

At least we got to read it before it was passed to know what is in it.

"“But we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it....” Pelosi.

If you're trying to argue this farce has been a more transparent process than the passage of the ACA, you're barking up the wrong tree.

The House Dems took testimony from 181 witnesses in 79 hearings on their legislation. The GOP has held zero hearings. The Dems waited for the CBO score of their legislation to be made public before voting. The GOP did not.

If that's how it goes then that's how it goes. But if you're hoping for the AHCA because of that desired end, know that it may very well only be after a good many people have suffered, gone bankrupt and died.

Anybody who makes a sporting issue out of this will not come out of this with their soul intact.

Not at all. Either one does not effect me that much with the health care insurance I have.

Could be wrong, but the CBO score was out on the first attempt that did not go to vote. Isn't this plan that passed the House addressed some of the issue.?

Besides, I can't get excited. We know the Senate is going to either reject or change the ACA drastically. It is all political posturing at this point.
