Im confused. Do you think GOP is not the same as DNC?

Yes. You are confused.

GOP= "Grand Old Party"; a nickname for the Republican party itself.

DNC= Democratic National Committee; the formal governing body for the United States Democratic Party. While it sets the rules for the party, it has no role in governing the nation itself (even when the Democratic Party itself is in power).

If only a government shut down applied to Trump and his twitter finger !

It always cost more to fix a broken system after it has broken than it is to properly maintain it and prevent breakdown in the first place. Fix government while it is working, not after it fails.

Still confused. Do you think the GOP has a role in governing the nation? Or maybe that the GOP is not a nickname for the RNC?

Yes.

The GOP is NOT another name for the RNC. The GOP (the Republicans) are the majority party in the federal government today.
The RNC is the Republican National Committee and serves the same role as the DNC does for the Democrats.

This time I find it entertaining since the Republicans are at the helm. And Trumps wall went bye bye. Now he is going to be blaming the Republicans for his failure. Its a comedy show.

You overestimate the honesty of our dear leader.

By vote count it did seem a shut-down was possible.
The Republicans didn't have enough votes in the senate on their own, needed some Dem. support.
And the Dems made clear any funding for the Donald's wall was a deal-breaker.
And Trump was insisting on funding for it.

The problem is, the Republicans get blamed for such shuts-down. Deservedly so, particularly with their 4x control.

It seems Speaker Ryan and Majority Leader McConnell have put some dents in the Donald's helmet.
The hurdle seems to have been cleared.
It seems there will be no shut-down this time around.

BUT !!

What'll it be?
A continuing resolution?
Different funding priorities?

Hopefully the question is self explanatory. The possibility comes up every year and every year there seems to be a near panic from politicians who try to do everything to avoid it but is it really something to fear? Poll incoming.

The fear is being blamed for it. The MSM will blame republicans, regardless.

"regardless" ?!

Republicans control the SCOTUS via CJ Roberts, and a majority on our high court.

Republicans control the house (HOR) via Speaker Ryan (an impressive, capable man, hopefully destined for higher office).

Republicans control the senate via ML McConnell.

UND !!

The Republicans control the exec, albeit with the tenaciously unpredictable President Trump.

Seriously??
Commenting on Donald Trump's going years without paying federal income tax former federal prosecutor former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani said of Trump:
"The man's a genius."
Late night TV comedy host Stephen Colbert replied:
"Yes. Only a genius could lose a $Billion $dollars running a casino."

Nope. It has shut down before and didn't affect me at all. I'm sure a longer shutdown would have more of an effect, but I doubt it will last long if there is one at all.

~2:pM on radio news I heard congress plans a 1 week extension, so they can continue to negotiate a more durable (longer-lived) budget.
