With the recent sexual assault scandals that have become public in the past year, has your opinion of the network changed? For me, I used to be a big Fox News fan, but not anymore.

No, not in the least.

If anything, it's even worse now, given that they new all about Billo's transgressions for a long time and did nothing to address it until the public found out.

That, and they're hardly covering the story themselves.

No... not really. I didn't really watch fox news to begin with. Never really liked Oreilly. But if I am somewhere where there is cable I'll probably turn on Fox before any other nightly news station.... if on the rare occasion I want to watch the news.

Nope. I still think Fox News is garbage.

But then again I think that about pretty much all of the mainstream media outlets. Nor do I really watch the news all that often.

I havent watched Fox, or any other network news for years.

Sexual assault? Come on now.

Why would a sex scandal influence anyone's opinion of a news venue?

Don't you try to balance the sources of news you receive?

Generally no. Still a right wing propaganda network with bias more egregious than the at worst centre left lean (and only by perverted American standards), MSNBC and CNN have.

That they've taken steps to clean up what appears to be a fairly deep seated culture of sexual abuse is definitely welcome however.

What amazes me is that these women continue to apply for jobs at FOX.

If Fox is such a hostile and sexist place to work, why apply? So they are willing to disregard their pride and morals to work for such a supposedly horrible organization?

Because of the Internet, balanced sources can be found without owning a TV.

That is true. Whether I would want to totally substitute radio/tv coverage, is another matter.

If I had to choose between radio, TV, and the Internet, I'd choose the 'Net.

I can't decide.

On the one hand, they keep having these scandals, from various people. And they have a history of paying off to make them go away (until they finally discover that they never really do go away - surprise!).

On the other hand, some are saying that Fox is honestly attempting to change their culture, pushed by Murdoch's sons I think I heard, and that's possible and hopeful, but only time will tell.

Used to watch Fox from 5PM to 11PM up until 3 years ago. Greta was boring at 7 so I surfed channels
and came upon FFN and Lou Dobbs became my main watch. Could not deal with Megyn Kelly after that 1st debate so
Gradually graduated to:

6PM: Charles Payne Fox Financial
7PM: Lou Dobbs Fox Financial
8 to 10 Channel surfering
10PM- Enjoy all 3 Fox, CNN, & MSNBC for very different reasons

My opinion has changed but not for the same reason yours has. Rupert Murdoch is reported to have strongly counseled his two sons, who now make most executive decisions for Fox News, to not cave in to Gretchen Carlson's law suit for sexual harassment. Rupert said something to the effect that if you do that, you open the flood gates for more and more attacks, all groundless mind you, and it will not end well.

The sons, however, who didn't like Roger Ailes or his programming methods, saw that as a way to get rid of their nemesis.

And now the chickens have come home to roost. I do not believe for a minute that O'Reilly is guilty of the charges against him, at least in the way they are being publicized. Nor does anybody who knows O'Reilly well. But whoever was funding or promoting the attacks won because the sons are gutless wonders without backbone compared to their dad.

And even if Fox survives losing its near #1 program in all of cable, not just cable news, there is blood in the water and the sharks are circling and other attacks are inevitable as they go after top Fox personalities one by one.

So yes, I fear youthful miscalculation, ambition, and poor judgment could continue to bring Fox down. And that will be a huge loss for those of us who valued a credible alternative to the heavily weighted left wing propaganda and shill for progressive government and ideology that dominates the media these days.

And it allows the most evil of the proponents of politics of personal destruction more and more power.

I used to think of them as another news channel like CNN, MSNBC, but with a more conservative editorial staff. I still think of them as another news channel, but with a more conservative editorial staff. I don't usually watch it, but do sometimes. The scandals don't effect me in any way. I have not followed them, don't know the details, nor am I particularly interested.

What makes you say the "attacks" are groundless?

yes, corporations are known for wanting to give $13 million to assorted plaintiffs despite that there is no evidence of guilt

Yeah. That.

What makes you say the "attacks" are groundless?

1. There has been zero evidence produced.

2. There is plenty of evidence to call the accusations into question.

3. Those who know O'Reilly well know his character, demeanor, and how he treats people.

All? That's a pretty definitive statement.
