The NYT's is going hard on this story and they interesting enough say "By The New York Times" instead of giving authors or even saying "Editors" which I dont quite understand the meaning of but it is significant.

Ted Koppel sent a message to O'Reilly (FOX), when he was interviewed a few years ago. In essence - "You are destroying the American political process, with your extreme partisanship. Nothing can get done in Washington". O'Reilly (and FOX) didn't listen. Don't expect any leniency for FOX, from any other media source. Appropo for this thread - they made their bed, now they have to sleep in it.

No, I have rarely watched him and never read one of his books, but I am the free mind free speech guy, anytime a person is shut up by force I am likely to have a problem with that.

You mean that there is duty for companies to support someone with his history toward half of the public that they are trying to sell to?

I am saying that it is largely the lefties who are putting pressure on corporations to not support O'Reilly/FoxNews.

So right wing men and women have no problem with a man who treated women as a class with disrespect?

Apparently so. They voted one in to be president.

It seems he's viewership has gone up while other cable networks has gone down. MSNBC and CNN has turned into a tabloid news stations, which hasn't seemed to work for them. Not sure they will ever learn that negativity has never worked for them.

So women knowing of all these apparent problems with Fox News still apply for them for what reason?

Because when you are looking for a job, you apply anywhere, and if they call you into an interview and aren't assholes despite what you might have heard, you just might take the job, thinking you can deal with it. Then some jerk feels you up.

I used to investigate such cases some years ago. Us guys tend to judge women harshly if they stick around cause they need the money, or if they cry harassment right away, or if they put up with a little of it, thinking it will get better, or if they hold their tongues, thinking that any complaint will follow them when they apply for future jobs, thus branding them as a troublemaker. And now we have a *****-grabber for prez who shows his solidarity with O'Reilly. Not very reassuring to women at risk.

For the record I dont think the Murdochs resist their paymasters, they will do as they are told and tell O Reilly that he has to retire.

But I hope that they dont.

And so it goes....

I am posting just to say that I voted no a week ago

*called it*
