Is diversity a threat to America?

Common reasons people fear/oppose immigration and racial diversity may include;

a. There won't be enough jobs

b. Immigrants will not assimilate

c. Immigrants and minorities are prone to committing crime and terrorism

d. American homogeneity will be threatened

e. American culture and values will be threatened

diversity seems to genarally be a threat to white folk, typically GOP folk .........

Diversety is the foundation of America. Any question just look in New York harbor. Big statue with a nice inscription.

Fear is America's Biggest Threat.

Demographics is not something anyone can legislate or prevent from happening.

Dinosaurs did all they could do to hang on, but only the fittest survived.
 
I love diversity.

How much I want to stress the collective with immigrants, especially Muslims till they end their hostility to non-Muslims, is another matter. ,

When we are letting over a million non Americans into America PER YEAR we most certainly do have significant control over the demographics.
 
My familey is like the United Nations ...

I'm Black, my Wife is Porto Rican, her Bother is mattieed to a White Woman, my Sister is married to a Mexican and my Bother is Mattie's to Greek Woman ...

At Thanksgiving everyone is complaining about the Food :mrgreen:

I'm in Technology... you haven't seen it all yet.
 
If done correctly immigration is important to the overall success of this country. We have an abundance of low skilled workers that drive wages down, bringing in entrepreneurs that can start businesses will create more jobs and make a huge impact on many of the issues we face. However, bringing in more unskilled labor only makes our problems worse.

As for the assimilation/culture & values part, it is important to make sure that people that come here buy into American values and culture. This is imperative for the immigrants themselves to increase the odds of them being successful and for a more peaceful society in general.
 
For me it depends. I think some diversity is great and only enriches our society however I feel that it is possible to over saturate to the point that we lose our own culture along the way. There have been instances in history where an area had such an influx of foreigners that their own society collapsed and was overtaken by foreign influences.

Not all immigrants are low skilled ... my Cliant has a manufacturing plant in Juarez Mexico and the Mexicans running that factory are just as skilled as any US Factory, in many cases more efficient.

Ya, I think that Million does not include a lot of temp tech workers, or temp farm worker, which surely about doubles it or more...I have not looked.

We let a ton of people in, have for a long time, and almost no one is seriously talking about changing that except not letting people come illegally.

I can't believe people would complain about the food. It seems like there would something for everybody to enjoy.

Way too many Women in my family ... the guys just look for a good place to hide, Smoke and Drink in peace.

Diversity is a threat to all we hold dear. As a Trumpist I say all should be white or we invite other babies to populate us.

Since the beginning of the country you had people of African decent and native populations. It was never all white.

But it's always been predominately white. No other babies, we need pure Arian Blood or we're not Bannon perfect. For he is modern day Himmler.

Assimilate? Homogenous? Why would you want those things? Thats not diversity, thats social engineering. A diverse society is just that, diverse, not homogenous, not assimilated.
I fail to see the value of a homogenous society. Sounds kind of North Korean to me. Diversity makes for a much more interesting society. I grew up in an area that was lily-white but recieved a huge influx of immigration, mostly from various regions of Asia. Its a much better place now, except it got pretty urban along the way.
