We learned the other day that when Trump said "wiretapping" he didn't mean "wiretapping." We also learned that when Trump promised full coverage for everybody, that wasn't actually important. Examples, of course, abound. Moving forward, what is the most logical way to interpret his statements so that the nation as a whole knows how to deal with the reality of his Presidency for the next four years?

Whichever one is most convenient for Trump at the moment. ;)

In general, we can't let ourselves be too easily triggered by his tweets. He's an immature brat who's way out of his league, of that there is no question. Instead, the objective needs to hold Congress accountable for not enabling SCROTUS's decisively unpresidential behavior, and to gear up for the 2018 elections as soon as possible.

Now if he starts tweeting about wanting to launch the nukes--and I would NOT put that kind of behavior past him--well, that's a different story.

I wanted to choose Figuratively AND Ignore them entirely and only pay attention to what he does.

I can't decide which is MOST appropriate.

I think people tend to take him literally when anyone who knows salesmen (at least old school ones) know they are prone to bombast and exaggeration.

After all, they are trying to sell something.

But if you get past the tweets and faux pas, one can clearly see he is at least trying to do all the things he has promised.

I don't agree with all of those things, but I admire this fresh approach.

So I think I will go with pay attention to what he actually does.

Figure out which ones we need to concentrate on so he gets nothing but a bad news cycle either due to his actions or statements.

I recommend laughter.

Look, it's not like he's been honest at all. everything he says is either a huge exaggeration or has to be "explained" by robotic aides who are themselves a joke.

Basically all this means that Trump can't be trusted. Imagine another world leader watching this, hears him accuse his predecessor of wiretapping him when there isn't a shred of evidence....do you think that leader will put any faith in what he says.

I sure as hell wouldn't.

I didn't see "Simply assume he is always lying." as an option. That's what I do.

You mean business as usual for both the MSM and the Alt-Left? :)

I say ignore them. If everyone ignores them, he won't get to manipulate the press, but then do we risk further damage by ignoring him?

Ask Kellyanne. I hear she has a Trump to English dictionary.

some of US knew a long time ago that Trump is nothing more than a LIAR with a BIG MOUTH that talks bulls*** all the time.

No matter who holds the office of POTUS I'm sure the biggest majority of Americans concerned with such things would hope that any POTUS would at least display themselves to be at a minimum 'Presidential', and to act as though they themselves actually have a healthy respect for the office.

We don't have that with Trump; his behavior is like that of some trailer trash redneck that just so happens to have money.

It is a sad state of affairs when the office of the POTUS comes to such depths; does it even get any worse than it is now with Trump?

I posted this just two weeks post Trump inauguration.

Well, it certainly is not getting any better.

I can only imagine what the world at large is thinking about our nation with such an imbecile in The White House, and how many now likely view America as nothing more than huge joke.

As far as the poll, I didn't vote: with such an anomalous a**hat in The White House I'm getting to the point where I really don't give a s*** any more.
This nation is a f***ing joke now.

I'm sorry you think this nation is now a joke. I don't.

has anyone in the so called "alt left" accused Barrack Obama of wiretapping them? No?

Has any of the hated MSM made bull**** claims?

Trying to shift focus on the old the traditional hatreds of the right is awfully lame.

You're 'greatest" has his tit in a wringer, so of course here we have to hear about the MSM. Frankly it's disgusting after eight years of reading you guys I find out it was all posturing; the current group of "ins" who piled so much scorn on Obama and his followers now adopt the same false posturing. You're all the same, only the right is far, far more hypocritical.

Now all those times you shut down congress look downright ugly; there was altruism there, it was simply an attention-getter for the Republican congress...

I'm fairly certain that most people don't have the self control to follow through with the correct advice.
It's too late to ignore him, he's president, should of done that before he got through the primaries.

There was not a logical option for me.

Seriously but not literally is what I would add.

People really go off the deep end when they do the opposite.

Literally but not seriously. Its a common example of intellectual dishonesty. We see it here and in the mainstrem media quite a bit.

Lose the entire message over one general word of phrase is an obvious symptom. CNN Acostas does it a lot and publicly.

Have you slept since Hillary lost?

The existence of the alt-left is merely more fake news from the alt-right.

Hardly. The alt left has been an influence since Wilson. Remember Margret Sanger?

Um, he used the term several times. It took a week to come up with that excuse. Calling 44 sick and bad proves that in my opinion. He's a liar, plain and simple. How do we deal with it? Vote his majority out.

I get that you're trying to be factious. But, why not look at what is right in front of your face? We can bury our heads in the sand or we can be honest with ourselves. The fact that trump tweets he was wire tapped is not the funny thing here. The funny thing is that no one denies it. Please be realistic.
