Argue all you want but HC eventually will be single payer. The millions that have gained reasonably priced coverage vote want it, and they ain't giving it up.

Don't know how government works, do you? Even if Bernie would have won we would still be right where we are now.

Yes, I think Americans are coming together on this. I wasn't always convinced this could be done, or maybe should be done. But I'm so sick of people being content to let our people die because they can't get health care, or suffer because they can't get a prescription filled, that I think the health care system ought to be set for all, once and for all. A single payer system, with an option to buy in the private market. That's what most first world countries have. It works.

It is shameful that we have people begging politicians to vote NOT to take their health care away. Shameful.

It's time to MAKE AMERICA GREAT for all Americans by allowing them all to get health care.

No such thing as Trumpcare. The law of the land is Obamacare. You can debate until the cows come home and it will still be called Obamacare.

Trump hope of Trumpcare he did not want his name attached to his own bill.:lamo

Damn, Trump succeeded in making Obamacare more popular.:lamo

Dream on. He did not succeed in making Obamacare more popular. Even more Democrats have come out in saying that Obamacare needs fixing. Obamacare is and has been imploding and only biased partisans deny that. It will get worse.

Of course it needs fixing.

Obamacare was a foot in the door.

But it made people understand the value of provisions like preexisting conditions and maintaining coverage for their adult children.

The foot stays very securely in the door thanks to Trumpcare. More securely than ever.

Was it your understanding that the Democrats (including Obama) thought Obamacare was a perfect plan?

The Democrats rammed Obamacare through without a single Republican vote. Since they had the ability to do that then why didn't they make it a perfect plan to begin with that wouldn't need fixing on down the road?

It'll take some wheeling and dealing. For 7 years the GOP has railed against ObamaCare and vowed to repeal and replace it. The moderates and tea party in the end will have to come to some kind of agreement. If they don't, they'll all end up with gobs of egg on their face and will risk losing their seats in 2018.

The stakes are too high to fail to some to some agreement.

Unlike Trump, I'm going to say it - I WAS WRONG! I'm wondering now if this insane right-wing party will get anything done besides blowing up the government? Remember, Bannon's goal - to "deconstruct the administrative state"!

Wow.

They got the best plan they could in the circumstances.

Perfect would have been nice, but what is perfect the first go around.

Look at the US. How long did it take us to ditch slavery?

Then how long did it take us to address civil rights for the same group of people.

By your logic....if it is not going to be perfect the first time...screw it.

I ask you to find one Democrat in Congress that thought Obamacare was going to be perfect.

It was a foot in the door with a few poison pills to hopefully give way to future improved legislation.

Perfect plan? Seriously. Give me a break.

OK, so you want to blast the right's healthcare situation while making a bunch of excuses for the left's utter failure to deliver. Got it.

Where's McConnell been in all this?

Why didn't Mitch introduce trump when they came to your Kentucky ?

We delivered a foot in the door with poison pills.

The right gave up after a couple of weeks.

Well, I agree with that. Obamacare is full of poisen and it is backfiring as we speek.

And the Republicans gave up after two weeks of trying. The public now understands their commitment to the health Americans.

Two weeks, good grief. Stop learning from the Twitterer in Chief with an attention span of a 2 year old. GIve it a real try.

If Obamacare were totally repealed and not replaced with anything we would still have healthcare so saying that they are not committed to health care is erroneous. On top of that, they want it replaced, not just repealed.

We would still have a healthcare system, sure.

This isn't about whether we have a healthcare system or not, but whether people can afford to make use of it.

You're joking right? Please show me where Obamacare is affordable, accept to those receiving subsidies. It does absolutely nothing to control healthcare costs. Zero. Zip. Notta. Even the Medicaid expansion sticks it to both taxpayers and the providers and does nothing to control actual healthcare costs. Funny how the libs are perfectly fine with the health insurance companies getting richer and richer and richer by making taxpayers foot the bill for astronomically increasing premiums so that health insurance company's CEO's can live lives of luxury. The left could give a **** about this as long as taxpayers foot the bill. And, the middle class is getting royally screwed because their premiums keep on going up and up and they get little to no subsidies.

If someone is unable to pay for healthcare, they SHOULD be subsidized.

Not for cosmetic stuff, though, that would be silly.

Obamacare sucks at what it does in some ways, but it made things better for some people. It needs fixed or replaced with something better.
But it should not be repealed before a replacement is ready and can at least semi-smoothly take over, because it is better than what we had before, by a narrow margin.

Subsidies suck and tax credits suck because they do absolutely nothing to rein in healthcare costs and we just let rates rise astronomically and put the taxpayers on the hook for it all. We need to rein in the cost of healthcare instead of letting it rise astronomically without lifting a finger and then bill taxpayers for it. This is why both Obamacare and the Republican plan sucked. Both plans let healthcare costs run out of control and then merely put taxpayers on the hook for it. Good God. We already owe 20 trillion dollars.

So you are a "everyone can go to the ER and be seen so everyone has healthcare kinda guy"

What the hell does that mean? We had healthcare before Obamacare. The left's biggest problem with it was that there were millions without health insurance, the costs were rising rapidly, and many people were going bankrupt. Since Obamacare was enacted, there are still millions without health insurance, many with health insurance they can't use, the costs are rising rapidly, and many people are going bankrupt. What the hell has it done?

There was healthcare in the 1800s as well.

Our system had been broken decades before Obama even took office.

Obamacare put a foot in the door that are making many Americans want something better than then and now.

The Republicans are going to have to work longer than two weeks to improve the situation.

The foot in the door is just a bunch of malarkey hoping for single payer, which isn't going to happen in our lifetimes. It was stupid for the Democrats to pass something they knew was a pile of crap, hoping that it would fail and when it failed the public would clamor for single payer. Anytime you pass legislation knowing that it will be nothing but a failure is just plain stupid. It led to Democratic losses in the Senate, the House, and the presidency, and now you are hoping that foot in the door will somehow cause Republicans to pass single payer? How stupid of an idea was that? Now you have lost the Supreme Court for decades to come because of that stupid idea.
