They serve out their sentence and then immediately deported.
Immediately deported regardless of criminal offense committed.
Immediately deported only for non-violent offenses committed.
They serve out their sentence and then get released back into the US.

I think they should serve out their sentence and then deported. They should be punished just like anyone else here and then deported.

The idea that we should immediately deport someone and not send them to prison for what ever crime committed is absurd. It sends the message that if you rob a bank or what ever else then your punishment will be just a free trip home if you are an illegal.

After doing time and before being deported.... 6 months building the very wall that will keep them out.

y clothe n feed them for 6 months when we can just deport em

Depends on the nature of the crime.

A serious violent crime they should serve the jail time then be deported. A non violent, not very serious crime, (ie drugs or non violent thefts) just deport them.

The public safety should be considered in what happens. Violent crimes likely mean reoffending, and the person would likely recross the boarder.

Great idea,

So they know which part of the wall will have intentional flaws put in them allowing for an easier time to get by it, or take it down. You get what you pay for, free forced labor is likely to be of poor quality, leading to a poor quality wall or fence or what ever the boarder wall means today

I say just deport them. I would love it if we could have them picking fruit by force or engaging in some other form of hard labor, but the admin costs to do even that would be too much. We should just deport them. There are very few options when it comes to extracting something useful out of them to justify giving them free room and board.

None of the above. If they have not committed any other crime than related ones in which case they should be immediately deported? There should be levied a severe fine and the immigrant can stay.

Tacos are cheap food and most clothes that Latinos wear look like they have been slept in for 6 months anyway.

I prefer having them serve time in all instances, but I could agree with that.

Crossing the border illegally first offense is a misdemeanor, about the same punishment as jaywalking. First offense should still require immediate deportation. Second offense and/or more is a felony. Immediate deportation with out legal wrangling.

The argument that illegal aliens should be allowed to stay because they do jobs Americans don't want is a liberal talking point. Illegals are mostly taking jobs that minorities have been doing for a 100 years. That is one of the reasons that unemployment is so high with minorities than it is with Caucasians.
Most who work in the fields are green card holders or at least should be.

I agree...but they should all be relocated to sanctuary cities like San Francisco or Seattle.

The price of labor in those towns will fall below minimum wage.

For all class of felony and class A misdemeanors; serve the proscribed sentence and then immediate deportation. Illegal re-entry would be considered an aggravated felony.

Not in San Fran it would not

Housing costs in San Fran are extremely high, a person could not live in their car for below min wage in San Fran

Do a crappy job, back to jail.

The fallacy of this who rhetoric is that they already are.

Actually in most places jaywalking is an Infraction, which is less than a misdemeanor.

So an illegal who burglarized a home, rapes someone, or some other criminal offense other than illegal immigration should be allowed to stay?

I don't think I proposed that.

Because coming across the border isn't a problem. 6 months in jail for the first illegal entry and two years in prison for each additional illegal entry will help deter people from illegally crossing into the country and incentivize them to leave, If someone deliberately trespassed into your home would you be okay with the cops not charging that person and just giving person a free trip home? Most people would say no.

I voted for immediate deport of non violent offenses. Though, it would also depend on what the non violent crime was. All other serve out their time and then deport immediately.

Figured it might save the tax payer some money and free up jail space by kicking out non violent criminals.

So aliens get a freebie? What's the incentive not to carry guns or coke across the border if they're only going to get deported? Yet if a US citizen does the same, he gets 20 years in federal prison?

A really warped sense of justice.
