Sexism in Advertising? [W:180]

IS advertising sexist?

It's not sexism without societal impacts. It doesn't become an ism, as opposed to bigotry, until it impacts society and a group as a whole. There is no female privilege. A minority does not enjoy majority privilege.

Stop trying to equate the obstacles of women, and other minorities, to those of white hetero men.

What a load of crap. I understand that you view anything where the minority is always innocent of sexism or racism or any other "ism" but its a crap view used to excuse those same "isms" in any other group but the majority.

Just look at our laws and definitions of the words for evidence of that.

Not to be picky here, but those stats include all relationships, not just straight relationships. That's actually kind of important since the statistics on both sides include violence by the same sex.

In which case it would more than likely just even out since the same relative amount of male homosexuals would be affecting the stats as women homosexuals. (relatively speaking for their gender groups that is)

Do you actually know what it was? You appear to think their culture was nothing but slavery to men, but of course that is absurd. Really though, your culture now is basically "do what men do". I just think it's a shame that women didn't establish a culture with the feminist movement, but just made their entire culture about being a follower.

Womens culture in the USA is as diverse as the USA is.

Not really. Even Gloria Steinem basically agreed with me that women have become followers of men.

Men are often played as fools dependent on their wives to save the day...
Women are the ones that successfully run the house hold because dad is a child that can't do anything but play with the kids...

Yes there is a lot of sexism and discrimination against men. Thank you for spreading awareness about discrimination we face. The enemies accuse anyone who mentions discrimination against men of misogyny, but more and more men are aware of discrimination:

If I were a freak that response might end it, however since so many agree with me and we must be granted our rights to examine the question your response only serves a clutter.

I believe men in USA face massive discrimination. Had I been alone, I would not have dared to speak, but the fact that millions of men and some women agree with me encourages me.

At least 35% of American men realize that men face at least moderate amount of discrimination.

Mainstream Media does not report on discrimination against men. Mainstream Media has a Liberal bias -- not just on this issue but on many others. Even the President called the media "the enemy of the American people".

Oh absolutely! Seriously, I can't take those dumb ads seriously. Who cares about Shampoo? It's just needs to get the hair clean. I bet however that a bunch of men are going out looking for the male shampoo thinking it's totally special for them. lol

If it costs more, it has to be better, right? Right?
