will the investigation into the Russian connection with the Trump campaign aka KREMLINGATE be the undoing of the Trump presidency & bring Trump down?

Really? :lamo

I hope you folks keep this faux drama up. There are two groups in the Democrat party right now. There are the ones that want to fix their party and then there are the ones that are going absolute conspiracy theory crazy.

I would hope Trump isn't compromised. But Trumps purposeful concealment of his tax returns does raise a rather unavoidable warning flag.

If the end game was getting their hands on Podesta's emails to use them to influence voters in the manner that they were used, they certainly wouldn't have needed the Russians to accomplish this. Podesta got caught in a phishing scheme that could have been pulled off by a savvy 10 year old.

I could see Trump ultimately being undone by grabbing someones ***** or something but not by this. The longer this has gone on, the more it is starting to remind me of "Wag the Dog".

I've outlined my skepticism many times on the forum but, basically, I don't trust that Trump put Tillerson in SoS just because he's a great negotiator. I think Tillerson is there to do the Exxon deal with Russia. And if the intelligence community can find out that Trump knew about this and traded sanctions for the DNC hack, then it's all over for president Trump. Not even Bill I never inhaled Clinton would survive that. If not, then just a bunch of weird coincidences and hopefully we can work with Russia to take down ISIS in the Middle East.

Trump didn't trade sanctions for the DNC hack.

I am very comfortable with that statement.

And if that doesn't happen, you will support Trump lock, stock, and barrel?

December 1, 2017 .................. KREMLINGATE still rolling along ............................

I think it's in plain sight. Russia wants Crimea-sanctions lifted. They influence election to give Trump the couple points he needed to win. In exchange Trump puts Rex Tillerson in as SoS. Flynn gets caught discussing sanctions with the Russian ambassador. They fire Flynn and finger him as the Russian mole. Trump knew about Flynn's conversation weeks before the public found out. A multi-agency investigation is ongoing. They're digging up dirt on Manafort, Stone, Page, and Flynn. So far, that's what we know. I got my popcorn.

one problem, if all you say is true, the state's evidence is based now on a person convicted for lying.

Trumps days are numbered. He will go down in history as the absolute worst president of all time and be a disgraced figure in the history books forever.

It is obviously not "faux" drama. Investigations, charges, and plea deals are very real. But even Clinton, who was impeached for lying to Congress, continued to be President, so I don't think this will amount to what people think.

As for Party corrections, the DNC has to figure out why Clinton couldn't even beat a buffoon, after screwing over Bernie Sanders; and the GOP has to figure out why creating such a seething hatred for the other side had it begging its constituents not to vote for a man who merely rolled in and created satisfying slogans around that mindless and irrational hate.

If you invoke the will of the people - as you just did in that post by referring to constituents and votes - please remember that over 2.8 million more people did NOT buy the Trump crap and rejected it in favor of his opponent. It is only because we have an antiquated system from the 1700's that was designed to thwart the will of the people that Trump is in office today.

please, don't get too upset about it; they are all ****ing lying ...............

The problem in dealing with a criminal conspiracy is that all the people who can give you the truth are all criminal conspirators. That is basic reality every prosecutor knows too well. It is where Flynn can point the investigators and tell them that will convict the higher ups on the Trump campaign. His actual testimony will probably never be needed in court.

So when Trump and his apologists point their bony fingers at Flynn and scream LIAR - its really much ado about nothing. Besides, its like two aging veteran 20$ hookers arguing with each other about which one does the filthiest things at the truck stop they work each night.

All I can say is please remember each and every time the media went completely ape *hit and said that Trump
was done, it's over, he is finished. All the lies and deceit they used to try and stop his run for president and since
elected president their attempt to sabotage/damage at every turn..

Each and every time they were wrong. And they will be wrong again! All of the hyperventilation for nothing.

Yeah, but the people have nothing to do with anything after they have cast their vote. They only matter two years and four years later.

Are you referring to the Electoral College? You know why it exists. I don't know if the country would be better off with or without it.

It exists to allow special elites to thwart the will of the people if they see fit.

I don't see the media sabotaging/damaging anything that Trump hasn't and isn't doing himself. I mean, it's pretty hard to ignore and avoid his constant poor behavior and invitations to criticize.

- After "lock her up" and others mindless slogans gets him elected, he proceeds to declare that he is no longer interested in a Clinton investigation. Um...ok...
- In a February 14 meeting at the White House, Trump reportedly told then-FBI Director James Comey to “let this go,” in regards to Flynn. Comey refused.
- Trump proceeds to dismiss Comey on May 9, 2017 and continues to lash out at the FBI for not focusing on Hillary Clinton instead. Um...it mattered again I guess...
- As the investigation proceeded, Trump increasingly mocked the CIA for presenting evidence of contact, and actually tried to used Putin's denial to declare the CIA wrong.
- He lobbied at least seven Senate Republicans and officials over a time span to "wrap up" the Russia investigation.
- Flynn, the fourth to go down in this investigation, pleads guilty to lying to the FBI and is apparently prepared to testify further.

I don't see where the media is sabotaging anything here. This is all Trump scrambling about; and it certainly appears that he is concerned. He was certainly concerned about Flynn way back in February. And his only real response to any of this has been to try to distract his fans by bringing up arbitrary crap on Twitter, refer back to Hilary Clinton (who he declared after elected not to even care about anymore), call everything "fake news" (in which he may as well include the FBI and the CIA), and actually try to thwart the investigation all year. Why? If there is nothing and it is all just "fake news," why such an obvious attempt to thwart?

And we can pretend that the Democrats cancelling meetings with Trump is a political thing, but he has also made it so that the U.S. has just preemptively cancelled a trip to Britain. I do believe that his recent arbitrary Tweets and and inappropriate and insulting jabs at rivals is reflecting his desperate mood. This is a guy who is used to throwing cash at a problem so that he can avoid responsibility. I don't think he has a clue what to do and this is why he is being increasingly abrasive towards people and erratic...

- Hey...um...remember Muslim terrorism in Britain everybody?
- Build that wall everybody, am I right?
- Um...Pocahontas everybody...Pocahontas!
- Er..Kate Steinle illegal immigrant killer was exonerated y'all! Um...build a wall everybody, right?
- Democrats don't like my tax-cut plan because they think it is too good and don't get to take credit y'all!
- America is highly respected again!
- Uhhhh..did I say anything about Muslims and terrorists lately?

I mean how more obvious can he get here? His default, when things get too tough, is to distract and bring up the same crap he used to create the mindless and satisfying slogans of his campaign trail. Even pretending that "America is highly respected again" in a latest Tweet is all about tapping into that "Make America Great Again" trash. Last I checked, the British were the latest to wag their finger at the fool. Is he just insane? Any news outlet that dares criticize or doesn't kiss his ass is automatically defaulted to "fake news." He is pretty much sabotaging himself and giving the media plenty of ammunition. It seems to me that it is Trump who is "hyperventilating."

My first thought on this?

Almost 45 years after the Watergate break-in and people are still putting 'gate' on the end of scandals?

Not true. In this case, it is not on a scandal, but rather, a possible scandal. Big difference.

I like reading these old threads from the beginning of the year. Doesn't sound much different than now except the noose is quite tight around Trump's neck and many #nothingburgers are now McBacon Deluxes Super Sized.

haven't seen a crime here. Move along. Nothing to see. In the words of a great journalist; nothing burger.

I hope so. They've already got a guilty plea from Michael Flynn. It is most certainly grounds for being unseated in a presidential election.

Good post. Well written.
The ducks are lining up, aren't they?

Why don’t we wait until it’s complete. Who knows, you might get lucky, but don’t start spending your winnings.
