Has Anyone's 401K Retirement Fund Gone up Since The Donald Became President?

right now the market is up over 2400 points and its not being reported, however if it falls it will be reported

It's not being reported? How did you learn about the 2400 hike in the DOW?

i learned it because i watch fox business news everyday with its coverage of the Trump rally and they have reported that the other networks are are not covering that trump rally.

remember the OP is about trumps presidency on the market, not just the market itself.

check the date of your story its set for tomorrow, mar 2...today was the biggest run up breaking a record, please produce something for the last several days showing its as a trump rally

I don't care if it's dated for April 1 in the year 3000. It's in the google news feed and it reported the rise in the DOW and I read it.

If Fox told you nobody else was reporting the stock market rise, they were lying to you. Badly. Nobody wouldn't notice the stock market rising an average of 100 points per day, let alone 300 points in a single day.

dude i posted yesterday that the other networks are not reporting that the rally on wall-street is a trump rally related to the OP....stop relating to it as just a rally, but instead one tied to trump.

you were very quick to give me a link, a story, but you cannot seem gave me one calling it the trump rally being reported before i made my initial posting

please post one and i will take back what i have said.

Why do you care if it's referred to as a "Trump" rally?

Why do you care if it's referred to as a "Trump" rally?

because the OP is referring to trump and the market together and we have seen the optimism, talk of tax cuts driving the market up.

the other networks not are reporting it as trump being the cause and it most certainly is.

My retirement account has had significant gains since Trump took office.
Did you see the historical gains on the Dow after Trump's speech last night?......... record highs.

his speech definitely drove the market up today.

if we see deregulation, tax cuts the market will continue to climb

Personally, I think people who are so eager to tie their political wagons to the stock market are effing nuts.

Hey PO I am sure the deregulation and promised tax cuts are driving it. All I can say personally I have seen a significant increase in my portfolio since November.

well there are some who think that, but since the treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said today the administration expects to get Obamacare replaced and tax cuts done before the Aug recess, wall street is climbing on that news

i own u.s. steel stock and since trump has talked about American steel being used to build the pipeline the stock has been under accumulation.

trump is driving the market up with expressing what he wants to do.

since Trump was elected my wife 401k which is small has gained over 5,000 dollars

The stock market rising like this isn't normal or sustainable. Expect an epic correction in the near future.

the market is rising because business wants less regulation and tax cuts, optimistic because of both those things and about the return of American companies and the creation of jobs.

Hubby and I are both retired. I won't put a dollar value on what we have gained since Trump took office only to say it has been lucrative. Our money guy just this week cashed in three stocks because he felt they had reached their high and re-invested the money where he saw a potential for more gains.

Life is good if you don't weaken. :)

i watch the market everyday, Monday thru friday when taxes cut become the subject from trump the market reacts

the current situation for wall street is optimism over jobs from deregulation, getting rid of dodd -frank and tax cuts coming

I just read that wall street's optimism is over passing tax reform legislation before August. If it doesn't happen...the market will likely lose some of it's enthusiasm.

"...Meanwhile, investors are looking ahead to President Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress in the evening. He's expected to discuss his bigger plans for defense and stimulus spending. He's also expected to address repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act, but markets are most interested in what he has to say about tax reform.

"Everyone is kind of holding back, waiting to hear what is said tonight," said Kathy Jones, chief fixed income strategist at Charles Schwab. "The key will potentially be what is said on taxes because that's what puts money in people's pockets."

Individual companies have also been paying close attention to Trump's tax plans. According to a survey from EY, 48 percent of U.S. companies believe the current tax environment has become more challenging in the past year.

"The current tax environment is the most challenging for companies in recent memory. Dramatic policy shifts across the globe, and an increasing lack of certainty are leaving many corporations wondering where to place bets and to cut losses," said Paul Hammes, EY global divestiture advisory services leader, in a Tuesday release...."
