If you believe iPhones are more cutting edge than androids, I really have no idea what to tell you. If anything iPhones, and apple products in general, are limited by overpriced proprietary bull****.
That's my biggest issue with Apple. I get that all companies will do things to encourage customers to buy only from them, but Apple takes it to an insultingly absurd level, and I personally resent it.

My disgust of Apple started back when Musicmatch Jukebox went belly-up and I tried iTunes for purchasing individual songs. Legal purchases, mind you. Apple put the music in their own proprietary format that was very cumbersome to convert to a simple MP3 that I could easily use anywhere. I got it done, but it was a pain in the ass. I left iTunes almost immediately and never looked back.

So now I have to ask: Do you have an iPhone and/or Apple computer?

:2razz:

I do have an iPhone. But no Apple computer.

Just a love for writing, academia, and coffee.

Yep, not to mention the asinine DRM iTunes originally foisted on everyone. I believe they have corrected much of that bs, but it has certainly left a bad that's in everyone's mouth.

I used to use iTunes primarily for downloading podcasts, and it was pretty good for that, but the newest version of iTunes seems to harrass me at every turn, coming on and trying to butt in when using other apps, even though I have it's startup disabled. With the advent of great podcast apps like castbox, and podcast one, iTunes is now obsolete for me, and I am going to uninstall it from all my machines.

IIRC, my time was during their DRM era. They may have corrected that, but like you say, that and the overall experience left such a bad taste that I have never even considered going back. I'd rather not even buy music than buy it from them.

I'm still kind of old school. I still prefer to purchase my music. I don't care for streaming.

You lost me at coffee, but otherwise I'm with ya. :2razz:

Oh, you're missing out on that sweet delicious nectar of the gods, my friend.

Nothing wrong with that. I do a little of both. I usually buy from Amazon.

Lol, yeah he is. I'm about to have another cuppa myownself.

I've been buying from Amazon lately, but I'm not satisfied with the quality I'm getting. I seem to get wildly varying bitrates from song to song, and they don't sound as good as when I rip from CDs I already own.

I'd like to find a reliable place where I can buy *wav files, but I cannot find such a site.

Yeah, it seems most are drifting away from the wav format, including audiobook downloads from the library. It's a shame.

My hearing loss has progressed to a point where it doesn't matter all that much, unfortunately.

Y'know who one of the biggest iPhone fans is? Rush Limbaugh.

It's a joke. Republicans use smartphones, they wear them in those nerdy clips on their belts:

We gotta put them somewhere while we're working. Something Dems wouldn't understand.
