You might want to contact one of the wind farm operators. I've heard they are looking for folks to monitor wind turbines, online.

haha .............. like I stated; I'm semi retired & not seeking employment aggressively

I have an interview @ 11 AM tomorrow morning for a great job but if it doesn't pan out; no big deal

I have plenty to keep me busy; cigars, European cars (convertible weather is here), guitars to play, travel plans, folks visiting, money in the accounts, etc.

thank God I'm not some hillbillie sucking on some political spector's azzhole ...................

A day without women sounds like a vacation for men. Let me be the first to say Thank You Ladies

See my previous post, that is why I am protesting, if its any of your buisness.

Actually, it'd be far better if you explained in greater detail the what, where, and why's of what you are planning to do.
Your simple little signature quote doesn't really explain anything.

Also, let me ask you this, would you "strike" if the company you worked for was run by a woman?

Which is exactly their point. You cons want them to be indentured servants who can't ever stand up for themselves, even with a month of notice

skippin work is an immediate fireable offense. have no mercy, employers. cut em all loose

I'll be at work. I don't get the day off and I'm not wasting a vacation day for a political protest.

I also am retired. But I think on March 7 everybody should go an apply for a job at Carls Jr or Hardees and then call in sick on the 8th.

What would that accomplish?

Behind every president except James Buchanan there was women somewhere behind the scenes, some were very influential in the presidential decision making process, in a couple cases like FDR and JFK there may have been a couple. So I had to vote other.

Trump falls into that category more than most.

I kept looking for the answer "I'll be beating my meat", but I couldn't find it.

I always figured if an employee didn't show up for work with no notice, they quit.

Bwahahahaha. Yes, obviously.

Ain't nobody got time for these absurd Leftist temper tantrums but people who probably don't work to begin with.

In most states, it requires that you do so three days in a row.

...which never made sense to me.

A good employer would listen and judge the reason given. It's not impossible that the employee simply wasn't able to reach a phone, especially years ago before portable phones were common. But, truth be told, legit reasons would be few and far between, and even when legit, it's probably a once-in-lifetime happening, not happening to the same person more than once.

Actually, March 8th I will be boarding a flight from MKE to TPA to take a long weekend fishing the flats around Arapika, Anclote, and surrounding areas.

I hope my flight attendant (assuming it's a woman,) makes it to work that day. I planned on working her hard. I can drink a lot of Jack in 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Employers don't have to fire them, they just have the legal option to do so after three days. I suppose employers can opt not to if there is a really good excuse.

I know. My point is that it's strange to me that 3 days has to go by before the option kicks in. Should be one day.

In many places, employers can fire anyone for just about any reason as long as it's not because of race, gender, age, or religion.
For most, it's not too difficult to make up a reason.

Even in at-will states, most employers are not going to just make something up because they can, because the courts are usually very favorable toward suits against bad terminations and financial compensation toward employees who get fired for no business-related reason.

Today's the day.

Who's "protesting" by not showing up for work?

By the way, if you took a vacation day it doesn't count.

It only counts if you were supposed to go to work today, but didn't (or won't).

Today is International Women's day. Commiserations to all women who suffer the parochial chauvinist ignorance displayed in this thread on a daily basis.

(and before the inevitable witty riposte, Yes, there is a men's day.)

I tried to say I needed to take the day off, to stand in solidarity.
We all had a good laugh after that.

The name of the event needs to be changed to "A day without a liberal woman!
Are conservative women going to participate and take off work. My guess would be no
they won't. It seems that the left is in a never ending "protest" mode now. Most
everyday since the election there has been some kind of protest.
