The quality of CNN's journalism took a marked turn for the better around the start of 2017. Dare I say it's better than that of NPR now.

I chose the Wall Street Journal even though sometimes they're thin on non-financial/business news. But they're the most impartial IMO.

I also rely on the Manchester Union Leader but they do lean pretty far right. They don't like Trump, never did, so that's a plus for me because they tended to be overly aggressive to Obama and overly forgiving of Bush. Now they are more in the middle and don't carry Trump's water like Fox does, and don't go out of their way to attack him like the NY Times does.

The Wall Street Journal is owned lock stock and barrel by Rupert Murdoch who also owns Fox.

That is a bit of a cop out. If you can't trust "any" of them, then how to you get your news? Its never a good idea to rely on one source of news for a story. It is always wise to cross-check them. But, as to "slants", the list is generally comprised of the least slanted news sources. Each of the above tries to be objective to get the whole story. On balance, they do a good job.

I saw this graph on DP last month. I thought it was excellent.

I would move MSNBC further down and a little further to the left. Otherwise I think its a good chart.

Go ahead. I backed up my statement; its your turn to do the same. You don't, you lose the point. That is the way debate works.

I don't have the time to go back and forth one zillion times and then you claim victory because you provided one zillion and one links. You know I could come up with the links if I wanted to waste my time but I don't. If you declare victory it just shows how dishonest you are in denying that I could actually come up with links if I wanted to.

OK, the fact that you are too lazy to back up your point is duly noted. Again, if you make and unsupported statement and I argue with a supported statement, you must either support your statement, find and support why my evidence is not correct or back down. Your backing down is also duly noted.

During the day I split my time between CNN and MSNBC. Once it hits the evening, if I watch a news source its almost always MSNBC with Maddow, O'Donnell and Matthews. So I would give the edge to MSNBC.

Those are my choices?

Blah.

This stuff has already been debated. No sense to beating a dead horse. I'm not going to get into a one upsmanship where we continually post links back and forth to each other in an endless debate until one side finally gives up and the other declares victory.

What are your favorite media?

Other. I've always tended towards longform news, and then, a mix. NPR, WaPo, NYT, The Guardian, and the Independent. I read the BBC, but only on things NOT related to the UK. I rely more on The Guardian and Independent for UK news.

I've never been one to really do short-form news, but for the past couple months, the news cycle is so ridiculously fast that I can't even keep up with it to the extent I like to while still having a life. So I've added in BBC and NPR podcasts. I also sometimes have BBC channel 4 news going in the background in the mornings when I'm at my partner's flat.

I do read/consume other stuff as well, but those are my consistent staples. And when I read something that's "developing" or otherwise disputed, I tend to just do a big Google News crawl and skim the nutgraphs in the interest of finding as many confirming/negating sources as possible.

I like this! I have some minor quibbles (HuffPo more liberal than Vox? Nah, those two should be switched around... Also, InfoWars is off the scale and belongs on a different planet entirely from everything else). But on the whole, this is a good reference for anyone relatively new to the news landscape and looking to get more involved, as many people seem to be in recent months.

Wasn't it Lawrence O'Donnell who wanted **** and piss into a women mouth when she said something he didn't like? Oh.. by the way his slot on MSNBC along with Chris Hays has been cancelled. And wasn't Maddow on the failed Air American talk radio which was also cancelled due to low ratings. Its seems there new star on MSNBC is Brian Williams who was fired from NBC for lying.

Google news and other aggregates. As for original sources...I'm not too choosey. But, I like the Atlantic lately.

He should fit right in at MSNBC then. Maybe he can pull Hillary out of retirement to work with him and they can talk about dodging sniper fire, etc. Hey, my light bulb just came on to make my million dollars and become one of the one percent. I can start a tv news network that reports nothing but fake news 24/7.

I have no idea what you are talking about or what any of that has to do with what I watch for news.

Do you have a verifiable source for this claim about cancellations?

My favorite medium is print daily and my favorite daily is the Guardian (electronic edition).

Thank you for distinguishing between "medium" (print, radio, TV, and the Internet) and "media."

My favorite news aggregator is Drudge because of all the links; it's sort of a Reader's Digest. And DP too.
