I have just reported what is the legal opinion of the vast majority of US constitutional legal scholars regarding impeachment. There will always be dissenting opinions, but what I have reported is accepted by the preponderance of US legal scholars.

After reading that link and thank you for posting it, I see no reason to revise my view and do not see, how you come to the conclusion that the standard sets so low a bar that popping corn could be a misdemeanor worthy of impeachment, if Congress so wants. But that would shift the constitutional balance of powers so radically, that we would have to rethink the meaning of the words.
