I feel that it is important for the President to act diplomatically, tactfully, and respectfully.

Do you think Trump meets this standard?

No, and I dont mind that at all.

I'm not sure--I have to rely on the media for reports on his behavior. ;)

For some reason you barred everyone who isn't a republican or democrat from voting. I'm an independent and no, he hasn't been very presidential at all so far. He's constantly getting into twitter wars and petty drama with celebrities and is pushing our enemies and our allies further and further away from the US.

I think it's important for Presidents to carry out actions promised to voters who put them in office.

Standing up to global and domestic forces allowed for years to take chunks out of the US economy, and fundamentally alter it's vision, requires someone with the backbone to change that.

In an age when it has become the norm to insult and attack people who have different beliefs and opinions, the complaints about President Trumps personality ring hollow to all but the few who require instruction on how to respond to them.

Trump, act Presidential? Hell, at this point, I'd settle for him acting like he's past the 8th grade.

We left common ground long ago, so I'm not trying to stir the pot. But I've been trying to understand this type of complaint.

A big portion of half the voting population, and portions of the remaining people, communicate thoughts and opinions in exactly the same manner as President Trump does from time to time.

From what High Ground do these complaints originate?

It seems to me it's like someone who drops the F bomb every other word is complaining about the language someone else is using.

It depends on the President you compare him with.

A big portion of half of the voting population watches NASCAR, kicks their dogs, cheats on their spouses, and picks their noses in public too. Big deal. I'm not weighing in on how the population acts. The question was about President Trump.

So was my question.

Have a nice day.

You want me to spend hours on here giving the reasons I don't think Trump acts Presidential when I've posted them on this board for weeks. There's a way you can find the answers - look at my posts.

No thank you.

I posted a question related to the perceptions people have regarding President Trump, since that is the topic of the thread. I stated that given their own demonstrated communication style, I wondered from what measure they are judging his behavior.

Your answer simply proved the point.

Again, have a nice day.

Stupid poll. Nobody feels that he is acting "presidential" but, that is why voters wanted someone different. They didn't want someone being "presidential", they wanted someone who would make America Great Again and put America first. They were tired of presidents being "presidential".

Bill Clinton was elected president because voters felt he connected with them and understood them. He was one of the "guys". Donald Trump was elected president because voters felt he connected with them and understood them. He was one of the "guys". The voters were tired of someone being presidential and being politically correct (a phrase which means being a liar).

No you don't. All you have to do is pay attention.

Oh, indeed. Please point me to criticisms of how President Trump has behaved when meeting with foreign leaders.

Or does "paying attention" mean reading up on Twitter? ;)

Republicans didn't vote for Trump because they wanted someone "presidential." They voted to "turn him into a missile and aim it at Washington" (their words, not mine). They specifically wanted a bad president, and now they just can't understand why everybody is so upset at him.

They were tired of politicians who lie, so they elected Trump?

That's like the claim that they made when Romney lost that he wasn't "conservative" enough, so they elected Obama.

If you can't understand that analogy, which I'm sure there are some who won't, ask one of the thousands of Muslims from New Jersey who celebrated the attack on the WTC, or perhaps one of the three million illegals who voted for Hillary. I'm sure they can explain it for you.

Being neither a democrat OR a republican, I can't vote.

But Trump acts bat-**** crazy. Period.

Case closed.

Ditto! As an independent voter too, I can't agree more with your post. I think it's as obvious as a cockroach on a white wedding cake, to anyone that tried to be objective even slightly.

I know, right?!?

That mean ol' media is always posting the things Trump says and does. How dare they? That's so unfair to him!

And all those Tweets he writes, going out public like that, that's not right. No wonder most of the world views Trump as a buffoon. It's those damn reporters reporting things!

Hell. A man can't even tell a lie anymore without it being on the evening news. What's this world coming to?
