Right? Think of the kind of person that just carries around signs like that.

Yeah. Idiots. People who would hold signs like that are morons. It reminds me of some idiot I saw on a street corner a couple of weeks ago holding a "Trump will not divide us" sign while wearing a "#NotMyPresident" shirt. Dude, you're the one dividing us. What an imbecile.

This sign suffers from a distinct lack of definitions.

Which of mankind's weapons cannot be used for assault?
None that I can think of, as they all can be used for assault.

So really, you are proposing a ban on anything that could be used to harm people. That includes the knife and fork at the dinner table.

A little bit ridiculous?

In the UK, where all guns are banned and / or very strictly controlled, there's an epidemic of criminal knifings. Ban those, and they'll use cricket bats or screw drivers.

It's an ill thought out proposal. Better, I think, would be to dedicate efforts in improving people's coping skills so they don't want to commit assault.

Exactly!!! Aren't all weapons by their very definition "assault weapons"?? Could someone provide me with an example of a "non-assault weapon"??

I do not support assault weapons bans. So I would never protest against assault weapons.Maybe if I was down on my luck and needed some cash I would do it.

BTW seeing how you support assault weapons bans can you tell me which is an assault weapon and which isn't under the Brady Assault weapons ban and why the one defined as an assault weapon is more dangerous than the one that isn't?

It's the one on the bottom, it's blacker.

One major problem here...

"Assault RIFLE" is a specific term with a specific definition, meaning a very specific type of weapon capable of selective fire or full auto.

"Assault WEAPON" is a term that was coined for political purposes. It's definition and scope varies greatly depending on who is using it, and can in some cases include all handguns capable of accepting a >10 round magazine (includes over half the pistols made in the past 30 years), and such innocuous firearms as the popular tube-mag Remington .22 semi-auto rifle, which is used for sport and small game and would never be considered a serious defense or "tactical" weapon.

Actual Assault RIFLES are already heavily restricted. Rifles in general are rarely used in crime, less so than shotguns, knives or clubs.

How much does it pay?

No, because I'm not in favor of banning guns based on poorly defined characteristics that are more about how they look than how they operate.

I definitely wouldn't carry the sign in public (or at all), for a number of reasons.

1. I don't carry political signs, nor do I participate in public protests.

2. As noted above, there are problems with the wording. It's too nebulous.

3. There are way too many gun nuts out there that seem to lose all rationality the moment you suggest any type of gun regulation. I'm not interested in engagement with these retards because they are too easily triggered... and I'm not looking to provoke an indiscriminate active shooter with mental problems.
