A lot happened this week as Trump recklessly bashed down the corridor of the presidential hallway; drunk with power and clearly lacking any foresight or caution. One could say he has already blundered by insisting on actually doing the wall and repealing Obamacare; but those are just the opening salvos that are far from fruition. With the almost universal ban on immigrants from 7 countries being effective immediately the actual repercussions are also effective immediately and lives are beginning to be destroyed.

So I ask, is this the first truly undeniable blunder that will mark the beginning of the series of unfortunate events that eventually end the Trump presidency? Or is this the beginning of a glorious new age in America?

Poll timed out.

Obama did effectively the same with people in Venezuela (socialist hellhole) but I didn't hear remotely the same amount of bitching and moaning from the left then.

He announced he was going to do this during his campaign and then he followed up on his statement, so at least all of his voters support this move.

Nothing he's done EO wise has been a blunder do far. He promised his voters every last one of them.

Is it possible some will have unintended consequences? Perhaps. But that remains to be seen.

You really ask kind of a dumb question. He's only done his platform. Why would any of those things be blunders to his constituents?

Obama banned Iraqis, Carter banned Iranians...this kind of stuff has been happening throughout our history. Trump has very good reason for his action. Oh, and all those lawsuits that are splashing the mainstream media...forget it. They will all fail.

What is the undeniable blunder? Trump has not actually built a wall as you state, but did start the ball rolling. The result, an opening of talks with Mexico.

Repealing Obamacare? Trump hasn't done that either. In fact he can't. Congress must repeal a law. Again, Trump opened negotiations.

Universal ban on Muslim travel to US? Not actually. Trump is putting a hold on entry until we can get a handle on the situation in order to do what's best for our country. Operative phrase "our country".

I do not understand which is the truly undeniable blunder.

Yes. I think he blundered. He should have included Saudi Arabia at the top of the list and without Saudi Arabia, it is a sham.

Methinks the OP was more of a statement than a question or poll subject.

Here in the EU the 7 country ban is being described as blatant anti religion actuin by the US. Similar seems to be going on in other regiins. That it touches about 250 millions of about 1.2 billions of Muslims is not being reported.

I have no problem with the temporary ban. All of those countries have been problematic in terms of Radical Islam.

Personally, I might have extended it to any Middle East nation where we've had issues with troublesome visitors (Saudi Arabia comes to mind...we really don't need their oil that badly).

Nor do I have any problem with building a wall, freezing Federal hiring temporarily except essential law enforcement personnel, accepting resignations of old bureaucrats, etc.

So for me? That would be a no concerning "undeniable blunders." He's doing what he promised (or at least trying), which IMO is a breath of fresh air in American politics. :coffeepap:

So he's as bad as Obama or 7 times worse? So because Obama was bad he can be worse? I'm not sure why you would want that.

You have to remember, a lot of what the right considers normal or "smart" is seen as scary and stupid in most parts of the world. So him actually doing the things right-wing politicians have used as rhetorical devices to lure in extremists is considered a blunder to the non alt-right.

No I actually agree with Obama doing what he did. I'm just pointing out the lefts readiness to turn a blind eye when their own kin do something like Trump.

You're not sure why I oppose immigration from war torn backwaters with a diametrically opposed culture? People who will consume government resources at much higher rates than the native population?

Bernie is in your avatar so I can understand why your could not POSSIBLY fathom as to why I hold such beliefs.

If he signs any more executive orders, he will become America's first dictator. Not because of how many there are but because there will be nothing left of the Constitution to chisel away.

2) No

You guys are taking very selective bans with specific qualifying criteria and comparing them to a multinational blanket ban as though they are equivalent, they are not.

This isn't the dark ages. The tolerance of Trump's bull in a china shop modus operandi will eventually wear thin and TSWHTF. He already has mobs gathering and chanting and he's only been president a week!

So a Muslim Registry must be next up??

The undeniable blunder is taking action that he cannot take back that has serious consequences, it's too late. He is seriously pissing people off and disrupting lives of people who do not deserve it. There is no wiggle room, there is no walking back. He threw his hat in the ring and now he's going to have to fight this to the death all the while promising this is only the beginning. Not a smart move, not a smart man. Hence, an undeniable blunder.

You would think his ban on terrorist countries would include terrorist countries whose citizens have actually attacked us but he only has the guts to bully the weakest of the countries in the middle east. This is just to placate his base of tough guy know nothings.

So a Muslim Registry must be next up??

Exactly what I inferred...

What Mr.Trump proposes right now, as I understand it, is not even a Muslim ban. It is a ban on countries which happen to have large populations (relative) of Muslims who have unfavorable views of the US and would be unfavorable to receive immigration from.

I'm almost less concerned about terrorist attacks than I am about welfare leeches and people who overwhelmingly vote for big government for GENERATIONS. Not to mention those who commit petty crimes and are just an overall detriment to American society.

I think it would have been far more palatable if there were extensive exceptions for people are very obviously friends of the U.S. Shutting out people who live in the U.S. and have worked with the government / military for years is just pure disrespect. I believe this is going to have a LOT of blowback and do far more harm than good, dozens of times more harm than good.

A multinational ban with clear conditions for a particular purpose. Nothing wrong with that, don't you think?

And who the **** cares about mobs? Oh...wait...liberals care about mobs. They form them all the time.

Obama's Venezuela bans were very specific and targeted individuals engaged in actionable behavior. It's apples to a tiny slice of orange.

You support the ban "cuz welfare"? Okay...

Considering these are all issues he ran on during the campaign the blunder (debatable) falls to the voters that put him into office. He is simply keeping his campaign promises.

He might tie Obama's yearly EO use in the first month of his presidency.
