Are you going to watch President Trump's first State of the Union Address?

Me: As I stated in my other thread, I have never watched an inauguration, including yesterday's. I have, however, watched a few SotU speeches. I generally don't, but I have a few times. I watched Obama's second one (we were speech evaluating it for my Toastmaster's club). I watched Clinton's last one where he said we needed every conceivable government program under the stars, knowing that we couldn't pay for it and he wouldn't be around to follow up. And a couple others.

On this one I just might watch. If for no other reason, the :popcorn2: factor.

You have to. It will be a GREAT speech on a GREAT occasion by a GREAT President speaking before a GREAT Congress filled with GREAT ideas and GREAT proposals and lots and lots of GREAT messaging for the GREAT American people.

It will be................... what word seems to escape me???? ..... oh yes ..... it should be GREAT!!!!!!

Hell yes, been waiting 18 months for it.

will there be an official SOTU address this year? if so, i'll probably watch part of it.

I imagine it will be alot like a racist landlord bitching about the black family he just evicted, trying to tell his non racist friend how dirty black people are in a way they can agree with them...

SOTU speeches are kingly spectacles unfit for a republican form of government.

I have to agree with you. I never, ever, watch these things no matter who is president. The ones I have seen are like watching paint dry. The president says something similar to Miss Universe's answer to the final question (yes, I do realize the irony in this) such as "I want peace in the world" , the members of Congress of the president's party all stand up and clap, rinse & repeat, rinse & repeat, rinse & repeat, oh, you get the idea. But, this whole election process has been historic and I do like popcorn.

I won't watch it.At most I'll read the transcripts to see what all the noise is about when some die hard anti-Trump tards makes some bogus nazi comparisons and bitches about his first state of the union.

I usually try to watch State of the Union Addresses, and for better or for worse, Trump is our President. So it's worth watching, see what he says, and go from there.

We should make them more like Prime Minister's Questions.
