Was Jesse Ventura a good Governor?

Was Jesse Ventura a good Governor?

I was living in FL while he was governor. So I have no idea.

He was an OK governor. A little self-absorbed (ok, a lot). In the end he got Democrats and Republicans to agree that the one thing they really couldn't stand was him.

Ya know, he actually kinda was. Those were decent years for Minnesota. I mean, I don't think I'd put him in some kind of hall of fame, but he was legitimately a pretty intelligent guy who did an ok job rising to the occasion.

That said, this was, what, 15 or 20 years ago? I've spoken to Jesse much more recently -- 2013 I think -- and it's clear that his mind has substantially declined in those couple of decades. I'd vote for a shoe box over him, if he were running today. I suspect he's suffering from the neurological degradation that affects a lot of former fighters and footballers. It's a shame -- there really was a decent mind under there at one point.

Now, I've been seeing a lot of people talking about Jesse lately as a way to legitimize Trump: Jesse was a grassroots candidate who "spoke his mind" and didn't wantcher money... like Trump, right? And Jesse did ok, so Trump will do ok.

No.

Jesse actually did speak his mind. Meaning, he actually did the stuff he said he supported, or at least tried to. He still believes a lot of the same stuff now that he did back then.

Trump has had every stance in existence over the course of his candidacy and since his win, and clearly has no actual logical or ethical platform. He says whatever he thinks will get him through the day.

Jesse actually didn't want your money. Like, he flat-out refused to take it.

Trump decided that he did in fact want your money the moment he won the primary. Oops, so much for that.

Jesse is actually a political person -- active even to this day, whatever you may think of his mental status.

Trump has never been interested in anything but promoting his garbage TV shows, and I'm willing to bet no one is more disappointed that he has to be president than he is. I still don't think he could pin Iraq even on a prelabeled map.

Yes, I'm aware at some point they were on stage together in MN. Trump's been on stage with everyone who will let him. He loves nothing better than to be on a stage.

How about letting him get sworn in first?? WTH!! Is wrong with the Left???

You need him to be sworn in before you become capable of reading all the stuff he's already done and said?

Um, I don't. I'm literate at all times.

What a joke. What happened to you, Smoke &Mirrors? "Let's crucify DT for his inaction BEFORE HE EVEN TAKES OFFICE!!" Ridiculous. Literate is not the adjective I would choose.

Like I said, you are incapable of reading everything he's already said and done -- including taking millions of dollars and changing his stances dozens of times -- because he hasn't been sworn in yet?

I'm not the one with the problem.

What's wrong with criticising Trump before he takes office? He's done plenty of things worthy of criticism.

Jesse was full of good intentions but it became obvious very quickly that he was in over his head.

I actually voted for him in 1998, mostly because at the time I really didn't understand politics. He was a "thumb in the eye" to the establishment and that was all the reason I needed. What is memorable to me now that I look back at it is how far off the polling was. Polls leading up to the election had Skip Humphrey narrowly defeating Norm Coleman with Ventura finishing third. The election results were Ventura narrowly defeating Coleman with Humphrey finishing a distant third.

To criticize his execution of his platform before he's POTUS is ridiculous. There's nothing wrong with criticizing him before he takes office. God, if there was, some people would be struck by lightening. But it is wrong to lie. He hasn't changed his stance dozens of times. I'm sick to death of people who think that those who support DT are maniacs. There's something wrong with people who think that way... who say he's changed his positions dozens of times, who say he doesn't want to be President as if they have the secret of what's in someone's mind. Scarey stuff.

I'm not criticizing his execution of his platform. I'm criticizing his total lack OF a platform. Read.

If you honestly believe that, either you have also failed to read anything about Trump whatsoever, or I just don't even know where to begin.

I think we're in for 4 years of it's not ok to criticize Him ever.

He wasn't even a good wrestler but he should have stick with it. One hundred percent blowhard and loud mouth. The law suit against a war hero, Christ Kyle, has made Ventura the true villian.

Well, we already know what Hillary has done and said and that's why Trump beat her.
