Historically, the US is a nation with a history of war, so I vote YES. Trump will not actively pursue diplomatic solutions at all.

The US is already involved in ground wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. So this is a moot poll.

Probably could have specified, but the intent was a NEW ground war.

Yes.

I do not think very high of Trump, but I do not think that he will actively lead us into a ground war. I do, however, think that he wil cause us to go into a ground war because of his lack of social skills. Until now he has not shown much diplomatics skills. He has not shown the will and/or capacity to accept alternatives. Reminds me a little of the Bush era rhetoric of 'You're either with us or without us'. He seems to be the kind of guy that let things escalate instead of defusing the situation.

But as I have said before; He hasn't even started yet, so we just got to wait and see.

Joey

It's too early to tell whether he definitely will or won't. Rather, I see it as a risk factor. And you basically said it, Joey, his gross lack of diplomatic and interpersonal skills, combined with his bizarre admiration for a man who is a dictator in all but the name, carry a high risk of our getting into a ground war within the next four years.

I voted yes but it isn't a confident one. I just think it is more likely than not given history. I would have felt the same about Hillary and every other major candidate with the exceptions of Sanders and Rand Paul.

Vladimir will lead us for the next four years. I'm already considering changing my user name to собака дыхание, which is my direct translation to Russian.

I don't think he wants to, but his complete absence of any diplomatic instincts as well as the joy he takes in pissing people off certainly makes it a lot more likely. Technically, all it would take for the next four years to avoid a war is for every foreign leader to roll their eyes and call Trump "smart," but I don't think every foreign leader will have Putin's instincts for manipulation.

Maybe. California is acting a might uppity and they have all those pesky 'celebrities' out there stirring stuff up...who knows.

"Keanu started WWIII." Hahaha, yes, that's precisely the kind of moronic narrative I can see coming out of the Trump camp.

On twitter no less.

What? I thought they were all moving to Canada.....

Outside the US or within it?

Who knows what the future brings, but it does not look good at this point, but hey he is not sworn in yet so I believe we need to wait for the answer.

No. He will not. If we get into a war on Trump's watch, it'll be because we were attacked. But if we are attacked, then watch out!

I think we'll be seeing a preview of that "watch out" when Trump deals with ISIS.

Probably could have specified, but the intent was a NEW ground war.

As stated we're already in a ground war. Are you asking as an example will Trump start a new war against N Korea and that would include ground troops.

Trump is not president yet. So we can't say for sure if he will lead us into a ground war.

I don't think Trump will lead the USA into any new wars.

Trump loves commerce way too much for this nonsense.

He's already talked about a ground/hot war with ISIS.

He will also 'bomb the **** out of them' and exacerbate the refugee crisis.

Wait.... didn't Obama say he would invade Pakistan if they didn't stop protecting terrorist?

Obama Says He Would Take Fight To Pakistan

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama issued a pointed warning yesterday to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, saying that as president he would be prepared to order U.S. troops into that country unilaterally if it failed to act on its own against Islamic extremists.

Obama Says He Would Take Fight To Pakistan

Hillary Clinton said she would enforce a no fly zone over Syria....Would that lead to war with Russia if Russian aircraft were shot down over Syria?

Funny how those threats work if liberals say them and how differently they are received when Trump says them.

I don't know what that has to do with the discussion. Find one post of mine on this entire forum defending Hillary during the election, or supporting ground invasions.

A ground war with ISIS is already ongoing. Just ask the American troops on the ground. Trump won't be starting one...he'll be finishing one.

Would you rather Trump NOT "bomb the **** out of them"...and exacerbate the refugee crisis?

It's good that he said this. Sometimes the president has to take a stand. His speech in Cairo also demonstrated some beautiful diplomacy.

You have some sort of valid reasoning other than your hate of all things Trump to make the assertion that he "will not actively pursue diplomatic solutions at all." ?
