Are You Boycotting Star Wars?

Apparently, many Trumpettes are boycotting Star Wars. Mostly because a writer or two had the temerity to criticize Trump. So Trump people, are you boycotting Star Wars?

I already saw it. And, I can say that I didn't have one political thought about either side during the entire movie. I was only thinking about the Star Wars universe, and nothing here exists there.

I don't watch feminist movies, but I wouldn't call what I'm doing a boycott.

Star Wars is feminist? Idk, I've always loved the Princess Laia (is that how you spell it?) outfit she wears when she's in Jabba's lair. Any girl who wears that usually ends up looking hot.

What are you talking about? The star trek movie was junk, it was the same nostalgic drivel that the force awakens was

The first one wasn't bad. The second one ripped off Star Trek 2 and the third one ripped off Star Trek 3. They forgot how to make good movies and just keep remaking the same things over and over.

Sounds pretty cool, how do I reach this Star Wars land? Sounds dope.

This isn't the old series, so..

While the original Star Wars trilogy certainly wasn't feminist, a lot of modern movies certainly are. Their casts are chosen specifically to appeal to a feminist liberal audience, such that it isn't the skill of the actor that matters, just what they look like on the outside that fits liberal checkboxes. That is, of course, the most racist and sexist way you can cast a movie, but that's what Hollywood is today.

Why would they want to appeal to feminist girls and women, when most Star Wars fans are dudes?

Well, besides the political nature within the Star Wars universe itself.

I don't do boycotts, generally, and mostly try to ignore Hollywood people's political expressions since most of them are idiots outside their own narrow specialty (and often within it as well....).

I've only seen the first Star Wars movie back in the last century. I thought it was crap and I've never seen any of the others.

I was wondering why in the world anyone would boycott Star Wars. I guess you explained it. I really don't believe in boycotting anyone or anything unless their service sucks.

I was a trump voter and I am not going to boycott it. I didn't boycott seeing the Grateful dead even though I believe they supported Carter in 1980. Now I won't waste my time on blatant propaganda Like Miss Sloane

Good grief who was I just talking to about stuff like this. Being wound so tight seems like counterproductive work which is probably self harming. If you are going to a "star wars" movie and you have REAL thoughts of american politics or feminism or racism etc you are doing it wrong. Life is too short to be so overwhelmingly childlike emotionally and nonsensically challenged like that. If anybody really does have those feelings I suggest getting some help with your serious issues. This way you can enjoying yourself, friends, family and life much more and hopefully become more in touch with reality, more sane, more rational and less sociopathic.

Saw Rogue One Friday night, loved it, and I'm sitting here right now eating my Vader toast for breakfast made with my Darth Vader Toaster. (True Story)

Only 361 more sleeps until Episode VIII is released.

Life is beautiful.

So, I have to tell this quick Star Wars Story... Went to see the original movie in the theater in 1977. Me and about 8 of my friends. We went on a Friday afternoon, maybe around 3pm show. Handful of people there, so we watched it, thought it was great. We decided to just stay and watch it again. Great!

But, instead of leaving, we decided to play a little prank. It's now time for the 8pm show. Packed house, and we have the best seats. The movie starts with the big opening, the massive Star Destroyer filling the screen, capturing the little shop. At that point, we all get up, grabbing our coats, grumbling about how "This movie sucks!", "This horrible", "let's get out of here", etc... People just staring at us, puzzled, confused.

I always wondered what the people there thought, but we thought it was really funny.

Well, besides the political nature within the Star Wars universe itself.

There are people that make the argument that the Empire is really the good guys, and the rebels are bad. But the last couple of movies make it harder to make that argument.

You would have to be one sad individual to boycott a movie for no other reason then the writers of said movie insulted some politician.

This is 2016.

I don't give a **** if someone insulted every politician whom ever lived. They are politicians - 90% of them are useless humans in my eyes. If they died, the world would probably be a better place.

From a marketing standpoint, they already have the male market, they're trying to get the female market too, especially the young female market that is hugely radical feminist. But from a personal standpoint, Hollywood is ridiculously liberal and hence, ridiculously feminist. So that's how they think, not about making good movies, but about having a leftist perspective.

Can't have womenz thinkin', and scheit.

If they were thinking, they wouldn't fall for the radical feminist crap in the first place.

And they lose a percentage of the male market by going for the woman/feminist audience. When Hollywood discovered this little fact all they did however was call the men that left them behind sexist like somehow that was going to fix the problem.
