Welfare states and socialism are two different things.

Just stop.
you are showing you know very little

welfare states, socialism, require money to operate and they get their money by direct taxes, a tax of force and they require people to be part of programs.

our government when created had no direct taxes and government had no powers concerning the people lifes.

More so demonized by the right who literally described him as having no redeeming qualities and a psychopath which is categorically untrue even though the cons definitely outweigh the pros; I'm under no illusions about that. Totalitarian communism is always awful and fundamentally indefensible, no matter what benefits it provides, who presides over it or why it is being done, but Fidel was nowhere near as bad as the McCarthyist sentiment of the time perceived him to be (which Sanders points out when he relates that US policy makers at the time were utterly wrong about Fidel being so awful that the state would collapse upon itself).

And yes, that interview was indeed full of truth bombs, especially as they relate to dissecting Reagan's many failures in regime change policy.

The only thing that matters is how he treated his people and in every respect on that front he fails.

There is nothing to praise him for.

Factually there are things to praise about his leadership despite its litany of sins and horrors, but if you choose not to praise him for upholding certain social services to first world standards despite extreme adversity and challenges, that's your business.
