He won't accept the salary because being able to look like a good guy to his fans is worth more. Of course his fans will eat it up and forget, willfully or otherwise, that not accepting the money is a BS gesture on his part.

Gingrich says that feelings are more valid than facts, and that has absolutely been reflective of the side in support of Trump. Combined with the Right's full move to alternative news sources that carry narratives specifically intended to confirm the bias of their target demographic, the Right isn't "full of lies," they've constructed their own alternative reality just as Truthers, Birthers and Anti-vaxxers have, and as many who've attempted to engage them in the Conspiracy Forum have demonstrated, trying to engage them with facts is an exhausting and futile exercise.

How would you choose to engage a side that has eschewed facts for feelings?

That is hypocritical and naive. I remember watching Bill O'Reilly interview Whoopi Goldberg once. O'Reilly was trying to talk facts with Whoopi on some subject and she would have none of it (talking about facts), saying that her values are based on what she believes in her heart. She left Bill O'Reilly speechless, something that isn't easy to do. It was then at that moment that I understood the far left and the far right more than I ever have. The far left claims the moral high ground over the religious right's moral high ground, based solely on what they believe in their hearts while the religious right solely believes in what they are taught to be the "truth". Both extreme sides claim the holier than though mantel, with neither side having facts.
