In 2020: Should Paul Ryan be the Republican candidate

you do understand that Trump has garnered himself a large following, and may have altered the GOP forever, right? If Trump doesn't run in 2020, someone similar to him will, imo. That is of course unless the GOP establishment manages to take it's party back from Trump/the alt right. I'm rooting for the GOP establishment, because I don't want one party rule. That said, maybe it's karma. The GOP establishment created the environment for the rise of Trump to happen, and I guess they are now stuck with it.

I am sure that the GOP leadership is partially to blame. But it isn't probable that that is the main cause. That is broader, goes deeper and has been building for quite some time.
