Who's luckier? Hillary or The Donald?

"Luckier" as in the politics gods smiled upon them by giving them the other one for an opponent.

well I can tell you who is getting screwed

US, the USA

Luck had nothing to do with Hillary's win; that was scored largely off the back of immense initial advantages, systemic and comprehensive DNC bias and a thousand cuts of voting irregularities.

Trump's more so.

That said they're in balance both damned lucky they ended up with each other, because neither would have a chance versus a more palatable or even appealing opponent (Sanders, Kasich or Rubio). Hillary to a greater extent however given the above and because nearly any other candidate on the Republican side would be trouncing her.

The answer to that question will obviously be clearer with 20/20 hindsight, but I do agree with the spirit of this Onion article:

Lester Holt Begins Debate By Reminding Audience These The Candidates They Chose

HEMPSTEAD, NY—After making brief introductory remarks and inviting both nominees to take the stage at Hofstra University Monday night, moderator Lester Holt reportedly began the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump by reminding the audience that these were the candidates they had chosen. “Before we begin, I’d like to take a moment to refresh the memories of everyone in this auditorium and all those watching at home by noting that the people standing before me tonight are the candidates whom you selected to lead the country for the next four years,” said the NBC Nightly News anchor, noting that the democratic process had functioned properly throughout the primary elections and, therefore, the two major-party nominees onstage were the result of the American people’s wishes. “So, just as a recap: You had numerous options and a full year to decide on the candidates you wanted to be your next president, and these were the two you picked. These two. Right here. All right, now let’s begin.” Several moments later, Holt reportedly responded to the night’s first testy exchange between the two candidates by curtly reminding debate viewers that there was no going back.

I don't know if lucky is quite the word. But Trump could only be in the election by running against someone like Hillary, and Hillary could only be in the election by running against someone like Trump. Had either side put up an actual, good candidate, this wouldn't even be a contest.

I don't believe that. The media has flung **** at both candidates nonstop, they sold the narrative that both candidates are awful for viewership.

If it was someone else, it'd just be someone else who looked like ****. Maybe we should question the wisdom in covering our future presidents with ****.

The problem is that they both are ****. Maybe we should question the wisdom of putting up **** candidates. Even if the press is throwing poo around, a good candidate comes out of that by having a solid record and platform to run on.

If you sufficiently magnify any known matter in the universe, you'll find that it's full of holes.

We would all look like **** it we were put under a **** lens filter. Maybe these candidates are worse than usual, but i see the fundamental problem being that filter.

Definitely Trump. Remember, this is a change election.

They're made for each other!

But I gotta' go with Hillary being luckier here. There's no way the Dems should win this year with any candidate, and that goes in spades with HRC as the Dem candidate.

Only Trump could make her look good, as damaged as she is!

I am! I dont have to vote any of them

They both suck ass. And the fact that neither one has managed to put away the other one just shows how awful they are, as candidates and as people.

They are worse. And we've zoomed in so hard all we look at is the difference between the two, we have lost the concept of the absolute scale. So we get stuck with the "You have to vote for X because Y is so much worse", while ignoring the fact that both X and Y are trash. While we need to compare, we also must be aware of the absolute scale. Trash is trash, voting for it lands us in the landfills, doesn't matter which landfill is bigger, we're surrounded by trash either way.

Oh, I thought this would be regarding life circumstances and their luck. Trump being born privy to millions in inherited wealth and Hillary being married to Bill Clinton and riding his coattails to the easy life.

What crap has been thrown at Hillary? No media investigations into her mishandling of Caracol, no media investigations into her Board Of Directorship while Wal*Mart started buying crap from America costing Americans their jobs. No investigation into her mismanagement of Syria or her attempts at arming Al-Qaeda affiliates in Libya. The media has been her lapdog from D1. Look at how the MSM screwed Sanders over by ignoring his campaign and asking biased questions.

If you are going to say luck is involved in the choosing of these two then I have to go with we the people being unlucky

The fix was in rather early for Hillary, for sure. You can't trust a Clinton. That being said, Trump is no better.

Have you never heard of benghazi or emailgate ? Those are two fake scandals.

OP,

You forgot to add poll option 4;

* I wish they would BOTH jump off a very tall building and splat horribly at the curb, many stories below.

:(

Trump is the weakest among the GOP candidates and the easiest to beat. She's lucky he's a small minded, hot-tempered troll that responds to personal insults over discussing issues and going after her mountains of garbage.

Spoken like a true socialist...if only Sanders was the candidate you would be in heaven LOL. If you like him you would vote for Hillary like Sanders gladly is but you are a right wing Republican and a Trump supporter so...

This really has been quite the campaign, hasn't it?

The WH was the Rep's to lose, so they tried to do just that and nominated Trump.

At which point it became the Dem's to lose... yet they chose Hillary.

Fixed that for you, ya pessimist! You have to act a little excited for stuff, you know.

The GOP got lucky when the Democratic Party went all-in on Clinton. They squandered their best opportunity in decades by nominating Trump. Now they have to hope they lose the election- if Clinton wins they can feed greedily at the mid-terms and hope they have a viable candidate in four years but if Trump wins he'll royally screw the Republican Party for a generation.
