Re: As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

the more important question would be-if you took an oath to defend the constitution of the United States of America-against all enemies, foreign and domestic-could you vote for Hillary? There are too many versions of "Christianity" to make this poll realistic

Re: As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

Of course not. Their pastors tell them what to think. Independent thought is the antithesis of religious control.

true, same with socialism or other collectivist philosophies. worship of big brother isn't much difference with the worship of a diety except Government is far more hostile to those who don't follow it in many nations than a God is

Re: As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

Given her support for Islam and Muslims?

What do you mean by "her support for Islam and Muslims?"

Re: As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

What an ugly thread this is. None of us knows the heart of anybody else, and the upcoming election isn't a litmus test of "faith" any more than any other election has been.

When a candidate says "Two Corinthians" they have pretty much disqualified themselves as a person of the Christian faith.

I don't know, I have yet to see a government wipe out all life with a global flood.

As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

Given her support for Islam and Muslims? Given her call for Christians to deny their faith in favor of secularism? Given her war against the baby in the womb? Given her continually lying and unethical behavior?

This is not about Trump, it is about Hillary who rarely talks about her supposed Christian faith. Can you support a candidate that at times, seems ashamed to be a Christian?

Well to even ask this question it seems you don't understand the constitution, america, the role of the president or what personal faith is. My answer is "Of course". Noe I doubt I will be supporting her or trump but it has nothing to do with me being Christian nor should it EVER. For anybody that understands america, supports it and our constitution your personal faith and the personal faith of the candidates don't matter one bit. All that matters is the ability to do their job. If they can't do their job it most certainly won't be based on my personal faith and if they can't do their job because of their personal faith that's a flaw with them, NOT their faith. So yes of course Christian's "can" support Hillary.

I can tell you that of thousands of varieties of Christianity, there is not a single one that matches Trump. Hell even Jim Jones knew his Bible.

Christians are supposed to follow Jesus Christ.
This leads to the biggest irony of our time. Jesus wanted to help the poor and the sick, yet Republicans consider the poor and the sick their enemy and the cause of all their problems.
Jesus said very little about abortion. And he said nothing at all about Homosexuals.

These Republicans that demonize the poor are much farther from the footsteps of Jesus than the average Muslim.
The two are not even compatible.
Many of these so called Christians are following something that most certainly is not Jehovah or Jesus.

Re: As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

"As a christian" I am not terribly comfortable with either candidate. However my faith and my civic duty are things that may overlap but don't necessarily intertwine to the extent that they would stop me from voting for a person. I would have no problem voting for Hillary Clinton as a Christian.

I have a problem voting for Hillary Clinton mostly for political reasons.

Re: As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

What do you mean by "her support for Islam and Muslims?"

If you believe Muslims have the right to practice their religion in the United States, you can't be a real Christian!

Oh, that's just preposterous.

Re: As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

As an atheist, I won't vote for Sen. Clinton or Mr. Trump either one. I don't believe Sen. Clinton is a Christian and if Mr. Trump is, it's a recent evolution like becoming a Republican. I can say without any doubt, Mr. Trump did not seek forgiveness for his sins.

That said, I have to add that with the following people like Jimm Baker, Jimmy Swaggart, Garner Ted Armstrong, and Jeremiah Wright have had, some Christians can support some pretty strange people.

I don't think it's preposterous at all. The man has shown that he has no background knowledge of scripture, he thought the communion tray was where you put your $$ offering and his personality is completely anti-Christ-like.

He's just a sinner, like all of us.

That said, Clinton has my vote.

And the Democrats who keep the poor locked in their ghettos, massive unemployment, non-performing schools for their children, and a life of poverty on welfare. I think Jesus probably thought people should work.

I couldn't care less. if Hillary and Trump are good Christians, it might be time to become a satanic cult member

Absolutely not.

some people wanted Johnson to do that to North Vietnam by bombing the dikes that would have flooded most of the country

Re: As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

There are many reasons that am not voting for Hillary, but to name a few. 1. She supports many Muslim nations that have a very harsh treatment of women. 2. She is a very dedicated Progressive Democrat and states that she will continue President Obama's policy's. And, finally, she does not actually believe in our military and will continue to down grade our military defense.

Re: As a Christian, can you support Hillary?

Absolutely not.

But you can get on board with Trump, who has never asked for forgiveness? Wow, selective "christianity" how much do you pay for that plan?

Is that the one where, once "saved" you can continue on raping, plundering and pillaging with blanket sin forgiveness?

In a word, no. Hillary's a horrible candidate for any self-respecting Christian to choose on multiple different levels. She's openly corrupt, utterly lacking in any sort of guiding Christian ethic, and she not only supports the mass institutionalized murder of unborn children, but would enact policies to expand the atrocity, and make it cheaper and easier to perform. Frankly, even beyond that, her whole party, and the ideology upon which it is presently founded, is ACTIVELY anti-Christian and anti-religious, being quietly disdainful of the faithful at best, and openly combatant towards them, while simultaneously seeking new and ever more insidious ways to shut them out of public discourse, and punish them for holding beliefs which the establishment finds to be unacceptable, at worst.

Granted, Trump's not a whole lot better on a personal level. However, he does seem to be the lesser of the two evils here, if only because his party does not share the values of the DNC.

When did Hillary "call for Christians to deny their faith in favor of secularism"?
What "lies" are you referring to, exactly? Please be specific. Links would be appreciated.

And if you think Christians can't support dishonesty, and you think Hillary is "dishonest," then what is your alternative? The master of dishonestly himself? The guy who has set an unprecedented standard for blatant, non-stop, in-your-face lying? And no, there is no comparison between the two.
A Week of Whoppers From Donald Trump

All politicians bend the truth to fit their purposes, including Hillary Clinton. But Donald J. Trump has unleashed a blizzard of falsehoods, exaggerations and outright lies in the general election, peppering his speeches, interviews and Twitter posts with untruths so frequent that they can seem flighty or random — even compulsive.

The New York Times closely tracked Mr. Trump’s public statements from Sept. 15-21, and assembled a list of his 31 biggest whoppers, many of them uttered repeatedly. This total excludes dozens more: Untruths that appeared to be mere hyperbole or humor, or delivered purely for effect, or what could generously be called rounding errors. Mr. Trump’s campaign, which dismissed this compilation as “silly,” offered responses on every point, but in none of the following instances did the responses support his assertions.

This has no precedent in US political history in living memory.

And by the way, don't be dishonest and say "this is not about Trump." Please. One of two people on this Earth will be elected President of the US in November. If you're smearing Hillary Clinton, then you're supporting Trump. At least be that honest, won't you?
