Can a Birther win the Presidency?

Can a Birther win the Presidency?

According to a CNN poll last fall, almost 1 in 10 Democrats are "birthers."

Yeah and in the same poll if I remember right, about half of Republicans are birthers. So by that notion 1 in 10 Democrats are delusional nutjobs while half of Republicans are. This is evidenced by their candidates as well.

When Trump pushed his birther non-sense, he pushed it on the Republican base. When he decided to run a campaign that appealed to xenophobes, bigots, and racists, he ran as a Republican. They need to own their crazies.

Of course! These conservatives make no sense. They will tell you how Clinton is Hitler times Pol Pot times Stalin in one sentence. In the next sentence they will use Clinton as the excuse for their guy's behavior. Soon we will be putting Gatorade on the crops.

I hope someone asks Trump his opinion on the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide.

Can a Birther win?
Anyone and anything can win the Presidency, whether it's of the USA or some other entity.

WILL they though....that's another question entirely.

It appears there's a scary percentage of Americans lining up to say yes to that question.

Colbert had it right though, he just keeps saying more and more outrageous **** to make you forget about the outrageous **** he said in the past.

Honestly I think a lot of people forgot about his birther activities a few years back.

Trump could still win, the odds are hugely against it though. One of the main reason Trump still has a chance is the Democrat's nominated a baggage laden Hillary Clinton. Outside of Democratic circles she is not well liked. Almost any other Democratic candidate would probably be up by 15 over Trump. But the reverse is true, almost any other Republican candidate would be ahead of Clinton.

What the supporters of both candidates can't admit is how much they are disliked outside of their supporters. Independent in particularly do not like either candidate and give both Trump and Clinton a 68% unfavorable rating. Although Clinton is slightly ahead when it comes to independents only 35-33. But Johnson is polling 19% of independents and Jill Stein 10%.

Even among Republicans, Trump is getting just 78% support from them. Romney received 93% of the GOP vote back in 2012. Hillary though is very close to the 92% of the Democratic vote Obama received in 2012 at 89%. Johnson at the moment is pulling 9% of the Republican base vote vs. only 2% from the Democratic base. Stein is getting 4% of the Republican vote compared to only 1% of the Democratic base vote.

Right there is your difference, add Johnson's and Stein's 13% to Trump's 78% and that makes 91% of the GOP vote. The simple fact or reason Trump could still win is the majority of Americans dislike both candidates. One of them has to win, it really is that simple.

Lol, not even close. You ought to be more careful about calling others "delusional" when you're throwing out claims like that!

His response will be: "We're going to be looking into that."

"Believe me... I'm hearing that it's not good. Not good, believe me. I Donald J. Trump will eliminate dihydrogen monoxide from the planet. Believe me."

I guess it depends on the poll, some had it as high as 64%. https://thinkprogress.org/as-many-a...e-birthers-poll-finds-af7fe18963ed#.t8l946pyb

50% of Republicans in this poll thought Obama was not an American and this was 2016. Republicans Still Don't Think Obama Is American, But Don't Care Ted Cruz Was Born In Canada
Yeah, well mine is scientific poll conducted over the telephone using a random sample, and yours is a poll of an "opt-in internet panel" (Earn rewards by completing simple surveys!) - heavily weighted to make up for a low response rate among Republicans.

No, I wouldn't expect the results to be the same.

You can read more about why your poll is junk, here:

Can a Birther win?

Possibly.

Birthers are the Truthers (9/11 conspiracy theorists) of the Obama administration. They’re two sides of the same filthy coin and there is plenty of them out there.

I hope someone asks Trump his opinion on the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide.

If that happens, it will have justified everything I have had to endure this election.

Did Oliver and Colbert use the same bit?

Anyway, I more or less reject that thesis because the response has been the same since he announced his candidacy. A large section of the American people are idiots who either don't care that this candidate says something idiotic, or they outright desire it because they think it is reality. Each incident, in isolation, had been a replay of either of those responses.

This election is showing us the desperate need for cultural elitism in this country.

Can a person who doubts the legitimacy of Barack Obama's presidency because of a conspiracy theory that Obama is not a natural-born US citizen become President?

Sure, I guess...but so what?

Everyone has a conspiracy theory or a weird idea about things that most others would think is strange or silly...again, so what?

It does not mean they can or cannot be a good POTUS.

Can a Birther win?
That depends on a few things.
Are they a NBC as required for eligibility?
Do they have enough votes to win?

If so, they only answer is "yes".

I voted No.

IMO there will never be enough stupid people in the country to elect a Birther President.

If it turns out I am wrong, well then Costa Rica here I come!

In case you forgot, it was Hillary's supporters who came up with the birther thing in the first place in 2008. That's where it was born.

Does not excuse the GOP's embrace of birtherism in any way, shape, or form.

If a liar can win the Presidency, why can't a birther win it?

I didn't say they couldn't. When did you stop beating your wife?

No matter who wins, a brother is going to win.

I'm voting for James Earl Jones. The speeches will be amazing.
