What will you do?

Well . . . THAT was Woodrow Wilson.

Oh please. US citizens still got to vote. I honestly don't know if Trump would even allow that. No joke.

How can Trump take away anyone's right to vote?

If you play your cards right you can usually get a FREE drink!!

She's a girl. Her entire life, she's going to get free drinks (if she wants them). Doesn't even have to play any cards.

Why? Because you can drink alcohol legally?
Bingo!

And through that you have legal access to a world of adult venues and social interaction that's been otherwise closed to you.

And the bands are a lot better! ;)

I think BoB (Bernie-or-Bust) is a dogmatic religion. Think about it: They have their deity, they have their beliefs, and nothing that anyone says, no matter how credible the source, can possibly convince them otherwise. Many people had supported Bernie but now have come over, however reluctantly, to Team Hillary, if for no other reason than sheer necessity. Yet the people left in the Religion of BoB are ****ting all over them. News flash to the BoBs: Leaving a pack of traitors is not, by definition, treachery. It's called waking the hell up and coming to grips with this thing called reality.

Traitors.

I have more respect for a mainstream Republican voter who has no idea what the hell to do this November, than a self-professed progressive who feels entitled to sit out the election and have potentially the first dictator in the history of the United States. The choice for president is binary--period.

That is absolutely silly and not based in reality - Trump would be lucky to get a third of what he's proposed through Congress. In reality, he won't get a fifth of what he's proposed through Congress. His opposition is bipartisan, so it doesn't matter if its a Democrat or Republican-controlled Congress.

You don't think it has anything to do with Wall Street?

There is this thing in the Constitution called martial law. All it would take is an insanely strong leader with an incredibly fragile ego to invoke that martial law, and bam, no more democracy. Trump is already showing many classic signs of becoming a potential dictator--narcissism, a campaign and demeanor full of anger and hate, disrespect for the rule of law, disdain of women and minorities, etc.

I have heard a lot of reasons to vote for Trump or to vote third-party. I have yet to see one of them that is sane.

I don't like him either, but don't you think that's just a little bit tin-foil hat there?

All it would take is an insanely strong leader with an incredibly fragile ego to invoke that martial law, and bam, the military, Congress, militias, state governments, state guards, NATO, Russia, China, Britain, and every single gun-owner in America including every single Officer of the Law is going to be encircling the White House and forcing him to step down, or else.

Bam..

You think a dictator needs a Congress? Oh and by the way, another facet of the Constitution is that the president is also the commander-in-chief. You really wanna take a chance with such a hot-headed lunatic deciding who and where we strike?

You don't think it has anything to do with Wall Street?

Oh please. Bernie has been Senator from one of the most liberal and lily-white states in America. It would like being Senator from Austin, Texas: All you'd have to do is support the environment, support LGBTQ rights, oppose GMOs because those things must be mean and nasty, and a few other causes, and bam, you pass the Progressive Purity Test. (TM)

By contrast, when she was Senator, Hillary represented New York, which is far more diverse and is where Wall Street actually is. So her comments about big banks, for that reason alone, carry more weight than those of Sanders'. (That isn't the main reason but is certainly worth considering.)

Yeah cool story bro. Trump knows who his supporters are, and it is these very people with an anti-government fetish that you talk about. I think the risk that they would be persecuted would be lower, simply because of their beliefs. But women? And people of color? And LGBTQs? Yeah let's just say there's a reason why people of color overwhelmingly support Hillary.

How's he going to stop that?

Wilson actually tried to create a permanent bureaucracy unaccountable to legislation, and hence the voters, which would have made voting irrelevant, because the people who would actually decide everything wouldn't be elected. This was by design.

The President doesn't declare martial law. That's a Congressional act.

Ex-CIA director: Armed forces would ignore Trump
Former CIA director: Military may refuse to follow Trump’s orders if he becomes president
FORMER CIA DIRECTOR: If Trump gave this order, the military wouldn't listen
Former CIA Director Says Military May Disobey Orders From Trump
Former CIA Chief: Military Could Disobey Donald Trump’s Orders

The U.S. Military vs. Donald Trump... and you honestly think Donald Trump would win.

Yep. My birthday's October the 10th.

I didn't realize you were that young! I remember when I first joined the forum at age... Not eighteen. I'm pretty sure I was sixteen, but I could have been seventeen.

I apparently DON'T remember when I first joined the forum. Forget I said anything.

There is a 70% chance I will vote for Jill Stein. 20% I will vote Johnson. 10% I will vote Hillary.

OK, now you're just being hyperbolic. Trump cannot take away anyone's right to vote.

Oh yeah that would go over well. Top military generals standing up to a tyrannical commander-in-chief of the world's most powerful military? What could possibly go wrong?!

I think you might want to re-read this post.

We have the U.S. military. Your argument is invalid.

Oh now you're proposing the military as a solution to all of this! Thank you, you just made my point for me.
