I never run away in a discussion of this sort.

If you have the particular...quote it and we can discuss it.

We both know the particulars of the statement, this is the tried and true method of dishonest posters to ignore what they have already said in order to re-argue it.

Whatever floats yer boat.

Ronald Reagan is the subject of the thread. I think it absurd to consider him to be one of the greatest presidents...let alone the greatest.

I have no problem with that opinion. I have a problem with what you said earlier.

If there is a stink...check your drawers.
Personal attack noted.

You presented a maxim...and used the wrong wording. I called it to your attention. If you had any ethics, you would simply own up to the mistake.

You did not own up to it!
I don't need to. The way it is worded has proven true for every form of government that has ever existed on the earth.

You made the assertion. Here it is...quoted from your #446:

Since you seem to think an opinion must be supported by facts...support it.

You made an assertion first, before I can attempt to rebut it, you should first try to support your assertion and I will attempt to disprove it. I cant disprove your assertion before you offer any proof. That's how people have honest discourse.

If you have something to say about what I have written...quote it...and we can discuss it.

I already have, twice. By all means, keep running away from your original assertion.

That makes no sense. "Making no sense" is one of the problems with writing in anger and frustration as you are.
Sarcasm, Frank, sarcasm.

Dismiss me...IF YOU CAN. But I think you are obsessed with me...and cannot break away.

Try to run away.

If I am wrong...you should be able to leave it.

We'll see.

You should just as easily be able to do the same.

One of the best ever, for sure. But Lincoln and Washington are the top two. Obama nails down the bottom, I never though anyone could be worse than Carter, but he did it.

Well, this thread is about Ronald Reagan, so first a word about the topic...and then I'll get to your obsession with me.

Ronald Reagan was, in my opinion, FAR FROM BEING A GREAT PRESIDENT. He was a likable, but ineffective president who, during his first inaugural address made a statement that I consider one of the most damaging statements ever made by any president before or since.

Obviously, he belongs on the list of presidents...but as for "great"...he should be in the bottom quarter as far as I am concerned.

Now, to your off-topic questions:

I never run away in a discussion of this sort. If you have the particular...quote it and we can discuss it.

I have no problem with that opinion. I have a problem with what you said earlier.

I've said lots of things. What in particular.

Personal attack noted.

You said there was a stink. If you were alone...it was a suggestion.

I don't need to. The way it is worded has proven true for every form of government that has ever existed on the earth.

No problem. You do not have the necessary ethical qualities to acknowledge your were wrong.

You made an assertion first, before I can attempt to rebut it, you should first try to support your assertion and I will attempt to disprove it. I cant disprove your assertion before you offer any proof. That's how people have honest discourse.

In your #446...you made an assertion about what one must do. Since you seem to think people must back up an assertion...I am asking you to back it up. If you don't want to do it, that is your right. It also is my right to do that.

I already have, twice. By all means, keep running away from your original assertion.

When you want to discuss a particular...quote it and we can.

Sarcasm, Frank, sarcasm.

Are you being sarcastic?

You should just as easily be able to do the same.

Oh, I can. But I am not the one "dismissing" you. You dismissed me...but here you are.

As I expected.

I have. Twice previously. You now refusing to discuss your earlier comment is telling.

I've said lots of things. What in particular.

See above.

You said there was a stink. If you were alone...it was a suggestion.

No problem. You do not have the necessary ethical qualities to acknowledge your were wrong.

Address posts please, not me personally.

In your #446...you made an assertion about what one must do. Since you seem to think people must back up an assertion...I am asking you to back it up. If you don't want to do it, that is your right. It also is my right to do that.

You are making the first assertion, it is your responsibility to back it. Your failure to do so is also telling.

When you want to discuss a particular...quote it and we can.

I have, twice previously in the thread.

Are you being sarcastic?

No.

Oh, I can. But I am not the one "dismissing" you. You dismissed me...but here you are.

As I expected.

I dismissed your arguments because they have no foundation. Please provide some.

We disagree.

Since this thread is about Ronald Reagan, I will first comment on that...and then respond to your rantings.

And the best way to do that is to repeat what I said earlier: Ronald Reagan was, in my opinion, FAR FROM BEING A GREAT PRESIDENT. He was a likable, but ineffective president who, during his first inaugural address made a statement that I consider one of the most damaging statements ever made by any president before or since. Obviously, he belongs on the list of presidents...but as for "greatness"...he should be in the bottom quartile as far as I am concerned.

Obviously we disagree.

I have. Twice previously. You now refusing to discuss your earlier comment is telling.

If you have a specific...quote it and we can discuss it.

See above.

See my response above.

/backpedal

If there is any backpedaling going on...you are doing it. I don't do that.

Address posts please, not me personally.

Are you addressing that comment to me personally???

You are making the first assertion, it is your responsibility to back it. Your failure to do so is also telling.

You made an assertion and apparently think it is necessary to "back up" assertions.

Do it...or don't do it as you see fit.

I have, twice previously in the thread.

If you want to discuss a particular...even if for the second or third time...quote it...and we will discuss it.

Sounded to me as though you were.

I dismissed your arguments because they have no foundation. Please provide some.

Dismiss away.

You certainly have an unusual way of doing it, though.
