I believe there's a strong irony that someone can claim to be a feminist yet imply that women in 2015 are so helpless they can't work

I never claimed or even implied either. What storybook are you reading?

A contract you can't prove even prove exists is pretty much meaningless, sorry.

And when a couple has an unwritten, good faith contract that both adhere to until there is a divorce? One works outside the home, one inside. Is that unwritten contract meaningless? To you perhaps. And since it isnt enforceable under the law, the law created alimony.

Still sharp as a tack, eh?

If you don't believe in civil marriage, don't get a civil marriage.

Bam. Cardinal solves another national debate.

"I'm a strong woman that can take care of herself. My husband owes me Alimony for staying at home. Really, if you calculated all I did for "him" I should have earned more than a hundred thousand a year." Btw, that last bit you will find on feminist sites all over the internet. :lamo

Oh, and sorry, but women don't make the decision for the man they are with. The whole, I did it for "him" is complete tripe.

I don't want anyone to have civil marriage, because I want equal tax treatment

Civil marriage is a huge liability... Over 50 percent odds of divorce, and you can be liable for half your estate, plus alimony. The real kicker is "no fault" states.

Any man who gets married in California, for example, is not thinking straight. You can have a wife who stays home all day doing her nails and bangs the gardener, leaves you for the pool boy, and she can be entitled to half your estate plus alimony

Not a very smart choice when you can just shack up with a young hottie and trade her in for a better model whenever you want

Sounds like civil marriage isn't for you.

Yep, pretty much the principles of feminism go out the door when there's a chance to be vindictive and get free money out of it. For some. Some women are against alimony and I do respect that

There isn't that many principles of feminism in the first place. Once you get past the very basic stuff it's just a bunch of women that disagree and yet all call themselves feminists.

Enjoy your government handouts

Keep more of my earnings due to lower taxes isn't a "government handout".

Having my wife as my legal next of kin isn't a "government handout".

Being able to transfer property to my wife without paying a tax penalty isn't a "government handout".

etc.

etc.

Only in this day and age are people keeping more of their own property considered a "government handout".

And so called feminists calling free stuff a human right is pretty common. What I enjoy even more from them though is when they call stuff like breast pump rooms a woman's rights. Yes babe, having a room to pump your breasts is a right. Whatever you say.

So once again gay marriage has spurred rants on taxes, welfare, feminism, divorce, blight, drought, volcanoes, etc.

You know, it's amazing that the anti-ssm side lost.

Well, feminism sucks and is very easy to make fun of. I mean, how easy is it really to make fun of people that think free birth control is a human right? Oh yes, you have a right to have people provide you pills. Gosh, why didn't I think of such an idiotic notion? Oh wait..

Or how easy is to make fun of people that rant and rave about men controlling women in relationships and then demand men do more housework? Stop telling me what to do men! Hey men, why aren't you cleaning, cooking and doing the wash?? Get to work!

Don't forget to mention baggy pants and hip-hop.

How's that steady diet of government cheese working out for ya?

Singles should get the same tax treatment
