I don't have any respect for rioters, but on the grand scale of thing, a riot fueled by sports is by far more egregious. Civil disobedience caused by actual problems in society is more understandable, and even possibly useful long term.

11 Stunning Images Highlight the Double Standard of Reactions to Riots Like Baltimore - Mic

I don't condone anything that is happening in Baltimore, but it is always fascinating how quickly black people are condemned racially for committing atrocities committed by every other race.

How amplified their actions are perceived in comparison to when other races do the same thing. You see it here on DP and youtube and other sites.

Nigger this - Nigger that. Monkey this - Monkey that and blanket statements a plenty.

Commentary that is never seen in regards to riots comprised of primarily white citizens who are, often, rioting over, in comparison, very trivial and mundane events.

So my question is - Is there a double standard in how we view "white" riots and "black" riots?

so what percentage of the riots in ferguson and baltimore were made up of blacks?

75% 85% higher?

do you get a few idiots joining in for the looting.....of course

Free **** man....

do i think that there is a double standard for rioters?

no....i think they all should go to prison....and for a good LONG time

i dont care if there black, white, yellow, or green......

they are destroying their city, their neighborhoods, their businesses

and they are hurting people physically and financially

Standard response: That's just college kids blowing off steam.

No double standard from me. I dislike those who riot and burn store fronts in places like Seattle at the economic conferences just as much as those who burn and loot in Ferguson and Baltimore. Criminals who destroy the message being put out by peaceful protesters.

There is a double standard. Nevertheless, pointing out that the double standard exists does not negate the need to clamp down on rioters whenever and wherever they occur. I couldn't care less if it's drunken college kids, excited sports fans, Occupy Wallstreet folks, or people pissed off at police officers.

No excuses period. Clamp down on it. Save people's property and livelihoods. Restore law and order.

I don't think the double standard is that people are not condemning the riots no matter the race it's that when say a group of white kids riot after a hockey game no one is talking about white people as a whole being white savage animals where when it's a group of black guys then it's yes they are black savage animals. Atleast that's how I see it as being the double standard and what I think the op is saying.
