I started to pick the first option.
Then I resented that it was restricted to women, so I'mma flounce off in a huff. :lamo
Seriously, when I was a young studmuffin I got "cat called" by women on a few occasions. There were also a couple times I got my ass grabbed by a female, and a couple times I had to fend off a grabby female I wasn't interested in.
True story and no ****.
The "shout outs" made me feel extra-studley and put a smile on my face. The grab-assers... well one was a gal I knew and kinda liked so I kinda liked it (even though it startled the **** out of me and I spilled my drink), the other was actually irritating because it was done by someone I wasn't interested in.
Then there was this one chick I REALLY wasn't interested in who played Twenty Hands until I finally lost my temper and barked at her quite sharply. She wasn't taking a hint and it got really annoying.
NOW having said that... I will agree it isn't the same thing, vs being female. As a man I had a reasonable expectation that none of the aforementioned females was going to overpower me and have their way or anything like that.
Most women have to constantly bear in mind that they're on the short end of the brute force equation if the attentive man goes beyond reasonable limits, and I can certainly imagine that would change how you'd feel about it. I can understand how a women would tend to view every catcall or unsolicited admirer as a potential threat, and I can't say I blame them.
Its not something I generally do, though, as it seems crass and ungentlemanly.
