Both are scum, like most corporations, both continue to exist, and both still do what they do, I don't see your argument.

Much envy here too. what makes them
"scum" I love watching people impotently rant about corporations.

sure we have more power. we have better cars, bigger houses, prettier wives and better tennis backhands than the Hoi Polloi. BFD, the issue is "too much power" and that is not true

Are you kidding me? It is entirely true, and you know it is.

Much envy I sense in this one Master Yoda

Seduced by the jealous side of the force he has been Obi Wan
yes clearly my only motivation for calling them scum is jealously. not the people who's lives these people make more difficult

Hey, anyone who exploits labor and accumulates wealth in mass numbers while millions starve to death is a scum in my book.

I agree with you, we don't have enough power though. we still are parasitized by the masses when it comes to tax. If we have the right amount of power, we would have votes proportionate to our share of paying for the federal taxes. Like us top 1% getting 40% of the votes.

I seriously hope you're joking. You don't help your case.

and to you that means anyone who is an employer who pays the going wage I suspect

IDK if they have too much power at the moment, but their power seems to be increasing and that can eventually become a problem even if it isn't already. It seems like all of the proposed solutions would actually make the problem worse.

Your idea of exploitation is a salary less than the total amount produced. You still haven't told me why someone would take part in a trade when they get nothing from it.

Sorry, but your idea of exploitation is retarded.

Nope, I want to have votes proportionate to my share of paying for government. I tire of ten parasites who pay nothing demanding that people like me pay more and more taxes. If one group pays for 40% of the federal government, they ought to have 40% of the say of how that government spends the money

Yes, capitalism relies on exploiting cheap labor, paying the lowest wages.. I ascribe to the labor theory of value, you may not, but I don't care. You've already established the kind of person you are.

its funny when rich people complain about taxes as if their living standard is threatened by them

"b-b-but its the principle of the thing!!"

Yes, the worker is not paid for the amount he is producing, almost always with a massive gap. Why would someone take part in a trade when they get nothing from it? It's exploitation, you support my case, the capitalist relies on not giving the laborer a fair payment for his labor, in order to achieve profit.

The labor theory of value was even dropped by Marx himself. At least ascribe to a theory that isn't debunked nonsense.

yeah the kind of person I am is that adults ought to be able to contract without others interfering. I think allowing government to "right all the wrongs" that the butt hurt and envious complain about leads to the crap we saw in Pol Pot's "killing fields" or Mao's "Great leap forward" and other government created atrocities

so you want to force someone to pay another person more than what is sufficient to buy his labor for? that sounds like totalitarianistic nonsense. Why should I pay more for the commodity known as labor than what is sufficient to obtain both the quality and quantity of that commodity that I seek?

You know at one point we had a massive tax rate on the rich and everything was fine, and the wealthy were fine. You call them parasites, when most people work, have families.. If a small group control the mass amount of wealth, it is literally common sense they be taxed more.

The laborer comes to the employer looking to trade his labor for a salary. Why in the ****ing hell would he retain the fruits of his labor when he sold it?

It was dropped by Marx himself? Really now.

That's the problem with capitalism, it relies on exploitation of what one's labor is worth for profit. That's all there is to it. People literally agree to acquire a source of monetary income without much of a say, or have no source of income to buy food, shelter.. all controlled by capitalism.

Although ordinary citizens can vote in national elections, the candidates must have funding that is backed by organizations that are controlled by those with wealth. As such the choices are limited.

Do the wealthy have too much power in the United States?
This is a question?

I thought that was a long-established fact.

FFS campaign finance these days basically boils down to who knows the richest persons (which now includes companies) and can best filter the money from them through whatever convoluted methods are necessary to make it legal.

Yes, they were clearly democracies. You're throwing out ridiculous examples. Adults able to contract without others interfering? We saw what the world was like before the government stepped in to regulate capitalism, don't kid yourself.

the actual effective rate was not all that different since so few were actually victimized by that idiotic tax rate which was first started by the disgusting FDR administration. Its easy for you to say it was fine when you don't have 90c off your next dollar confiscated by the government. Everyone should pay the same rate on their dollars so the parasites cannot be bought with promises that they will get goodies payed for by OTHERS paying a higher rate

That's the core issue, the whole idea of profit involves exploitation.
