Weird as in make it slightly more or less crap than it already was?

I was never a big fan of it but I am no fan of whatever they are doing now and a big part is because of Ashton. Just don't think he is funny...

Re: Jeremy Clarkson booted of Top Gear UK, political correctness strikes in the UK to

That's not the end of it. The public wants that show and they want Clarkson to be a part of it. That's the ONLY factor that counts outside of the BBC leadership.

The public can suck it.

The BBC has an obligation to its staff to provide an abuse free work environment.

Clarkson knew as soon as it happened he was done which is why he reported himself.

Now he can pick up a contract with Sky or ITV and the public can watch him there, the BBC has done the right thing.

How can it be considered that they were acting out of PC concerns when phsyical assault is the reason he was sacked?

He punched a colleague in the face. It is not political correctness to not fire somebody for that. He 100% deserved to be fired.

That's hilarity to the extreme. The public desire to watch is the ONLY reason the BBC exists.

Hmm, the entirety of Hollywood would be out of work if breaking the law meant you were removed from a show. Penalize him for his illegal behavior in the legal system if you want.

He didnt attack some random person on his own time he assaulted a co-worker on set. What company wouldnt fire someone for that?
I like the guy he`s a total jerk but an amusing one but he went to far and now has lost his job.

What the heck does this have to do with anything involving being politically correct? One employee struck another employee in the face? Are rightwingers actually opposed to putting a stop to workplace violence now?

Re: Jeremy Clarkson booted of Top Gear UK, political correctness strikes in the UK to

Isn't this like when they tried kicking the old man off Duck Dynasty, and the network found out the hard way that he would take his entire show and go elsewhere, leaving A&E standing there like a loser?

No, the BBC isn't free enterprise and the UK does not have much in the way of free speech either.

There is free speech but this has issue has nothing to do with free speech but with striking an employee, violence on the work floor and well that can never ever ever be tolerated giving the BBC no choice whatsoever in this case.

The Duck Dynasty incident wasn't about free speech, it was about money, and who controlled the show. The old man owned the show because of who he was. Without him no more golden eggs. So A&E shut their goddamn mouths and sat down.
