I've never met either man, so I can't really comment beyond what can be perceived about public persona. But I think it's fair to say that we wouldn't know much about either one if they hadn't entered the political arena.

And either way, trying to compare the two is going to give an advantage to Cheney because, unlike Obama, he has private-sector experience whereas the President has none.

But I suppose we could, in this silly thread, judge them by their spouses. I knew who Lynne Cheney was quite some time before I ever heard of her husband. :mrgreen:
 
isn't it interesting that NOT one of those who voted for Obama has made an argument why?

But I'll help you: Trying to compare the "intelligence" of either Cheney or Obama without establishing any criteria for assessment is silly, so I offered a silly criterion of my own.

Let me guess--you're busy Googling "Lynne Cheney" right now, aren't you? Had you ever heard of Michelle Obama before her husband became a Presidential candidate?

Very difficult, almost impossible to say. When it comes to book smart it is most likely Obama. When it comes to political smarts it possibly is Cheney. When it comes to political wheeling and dealing it will be Cheney too. When it comes to emotional intelligence it will be Obama.

The 2 are not really that comparable, both are smart but mostly not on the same subject/categories. So all in all I cannot say who is smarter, though IMHO I think that Obama would win out in the end, but that is just an opinion. For all I know Cheney would smoke Obama in an IQ test.

No one is scared of Dick Cheney's sorry ass, but while he was in office what he had the potential to do was scary. What Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is scary, it doesn't make him smart.
