An equally incredible analysis from you - you and Mycroft are on a roll today! What exactly is it about her that generates this type of response? The fact that she handles a gun well and likes the outdoor life? That can't be it because policewomen do the same. The fact that she's sexy? There are many sexy women in this world. The interesting thing is that both men and women share the same dislike of her, so it can't be just female jealousy. The fact that she was the successful governor of the largest state in the US, and was well liked by her constituents? Maybe. I have pondered on this for a long time, and I can't figure it out. Disgust with her butchering the language and sometimes rambling when she speaks I could understand, but why do they seem to fear her? What's your take?

My take is this:

1. She is against the leftist agenda.

2. She speaks plainly and honestly...something that few politicians do and something that no leftists politicians do. People know that Palin won't Gruber them.

3. Leftists have used this ridicule/smear/lie tactic on others they fear...Bush and McCain come to mind, though there are many others. It's really gotten to the point that leftists are unable to bring compelling, rational arguments to support their views.

All statements involving Sarah Palin | PolitiFact
About that..........

Well to be fair, she might not have peddled a lot of those lies intentionally- she does genuinely seem stupid enough to have been fed info and actually believed it to be true.

Any politician can get their facts wrong, but that's not what I was talking about. I was talking about speaking in plain, understandable language without deliberate intention of lying. You know...not speaking like this: "If you like your insurance, you can have your insurance.", "ACA will reduce premiums by $2500 per family.", "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.", "I won't sign ACA if it costs more than a trillion dollars." etc....

So your contention is that sarah palin- across the board-- never intentionally lied. That she got ALL those things wrong by "honest mistake". Even if I believe you, it proves my point. TOO stupid for the job.

I don't know if she intentionally lied or not. If you believe she did, then show some rational proof.

btw, by your logic, Obama is too stupid for the job, as well...except that we know Obama intentionally lied, thanks to Gruber spilling the beans. Tell me...do you think there is ANYONE who actually believes that Obama ever speaks plainly and honestly? Understand, I'm not asking about those who think his murkiness and dishonesty is a good thing. Does anyone actually BELIEVE he is open and honest?

Probably not. I certainly don't; with that said, I think any smart politician knows that at the minimum, certain things must be held secret and or misrepresented/lied about.

I, and I think a whole lot of other Americans, prefer a politician that doesn't lie to my face.

And that gets back to my take on why the left reacts with such vitriol when it comes to Palin. That "whole lot of other Americans".

Do you have something more recent than this?
Palin

Greetings, SlevinKelevra. :2wave:

No I don't. She was popular enough with the people to be elected Governor, though, and Alaska is a big state with people spread out all over the place, with many areas very sparsely populated.

While she was governor of Alaska - she resigned in 2009 - there were a lot of allegations made about her while she was fighting lawsuits against her, all of which were found to be false, by the way. There was even a partisan in the US who bought the property next to her so he could spy on her and her family! How's that for chutzpah? He found nothing interesting, of course, and that plot to discredit her soon died, but it was a stupid move, even for the political arena which is known for making stupid moves!

In any event, she has not held any public office in years, and it's interesting that she can still generate the rabid hysteria we see against her today just by mentioning her name! Herd thinking on display? Who knows? I personally don't care what she does one way or another, so I don't keep track, but she can apparently still draw large crowds that pay to hear what she has to say. Weird!

It's little different that the level of hatred exhibited by many towards Obama. I don't really understand it either.

Every politician has their share of haters, it's the degree of hate that is unusual in the case of Palin and Obama, but I also see some of the same directed towards Hillary, with many people saying that they find her "disgusting" (in every way, politically and physically).

I'm not seeing that level of hate directed towards ANY white male politician, so I can only assume that it's some latent or outright racism and sexism.

Those on the right keep shouting that Obama has divided the country more than it's ever been divided, but I can't help to wonder if it's not racism which has caused this, much more than any of the Obama policies.

Greetings, imagep. :2wave:

I don't even think it's entirely racism, but personal ideology in his case. Don't forget that it was him that offended many people in this country by calling Republicans his "enemies!" Most people never thought of themselves as enemies just because they might disagree with him, but what's telling is that HE felt that way! It's difficult to be on someone's side when you know they don't like you, and yet he claims he wants cooperation? Huh uh! It just doesn't work that way!

from what you LITERALLY just quoted, I asked for examples of EO's that are acceptable.

Why not give some examples?
Why should I waste my time? The drones will not be swayed. You people will worship The Obama no matter what.

I do not know.

Perhaps being in the Canadian culture prevents me from understanding. But despite her ideology, she is an attractive, powerful and outspoken woman. That can be threatening to some men who view male-female relationships as a power struggle. She is indeed polarizing and in that refreshing, finally! someone who has the courage of their convictions to say exactly what the hell she means. In this day and age when someone's socks have to be approved by a test group, that is worthy of praise alone. I doubt Ms. Palin would ever vote "present" on anything, she strikes me as a woman who would run TO a fight, not away from it; desirable in every Hollywood action movie....for men to do not women who even in the latest Bond flicks have women uttering "save me, James!".

But, to be honest, without the gun totin' we have a woman similar in character running the province....

Christy Clark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Who has drawn fire because she is a single mom, when the opposition is all about women's rights etc....claiming like Obama the Liberal Party of BC has no women!

She draws much the same outside reaction, was even asked on a live radio interview what she thought of being called a "MILF",. she was raked over the internet for showing too much cleavage - get the irony? and called every name Sarah has been called.

There again she is pretty and attractive with adorable eyes, strong willed, a team player and proof that a woman on the right can not only succeed but do so without a man....and she is "drill, baby, drill", cut taxes then cut them some more, and has this province humming like never before, she even found a way to buy off and silence the teachers and other public union summer strike addicts.

Now, I figure that ruins a lot of lives, women who think they should be successful and aren't, are going to hate her. Unattractive women will despise her, and the men who tolerate them know better than NOT to hate her, although I suspect many wonder about that cleavage.

She is a hockey mom, was raked because she had to miss local debates because her son was playing....now that really has to piss off the women and men on the left....they have been saying single moms need all this help and aren't getting it. She is a former successful radio talk show host, annoying as hell...but that has to stir some resentments..

So I see it a kind of the same thing with Sarah, she breaks their cleverly constructed mold of what they say it is, and is scary powerful ..

but too, perhaps again because the deadly wilderness in less than a half hour's drive from my door, I kind of like the idea of a woman who can shoot to kill....we have 1,200 lb black bears in our back yards sometimes...and Grizzlies not that far a drive. And i encouraged my daughters to play hockey, the Canadian way, open checks, elbows etc.....so I kind of favor strong women.
