Time to have some innocent fun.

There's no poll yet. So before I see my choices I will say that I adore Canadians.

the ones I have met seemed down to earth, mostly.

I'm sure Canadians aren't all alike though

Deeply insecure loud, blaring "Scene Kid" people who, when they're under their covers at night, know truly that all anybody see's them as is an unconquered second Alaska colony that benefits from living north of an empire.

Otherwise decent people.

I once met a Canadian woman who had an abortion from an Asian guy she slept with. Apparently there's a lot of Asians in Canada that they let in and Canadian white women have deep insecurities over Asian women.

Some of the best people I ever met were Canadians. I am not including Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang among that group.

My husband used to play hockey and I met a ton of Canadians that way, and they were exceptional people. I also know a lot of Canadians because I live in NH and we have French Canadians permeating every orifice in this state - again, really great people. Some of my favorite places to visit are in Canada (Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, Ottawa, Vancouver).

The only Canadians I truly hate are the ones who inflict the tortures on baby seals.

Always got a kick out of this.

or this

No different than anyone else. They are humans, neither nicer than other people nor meaner, there is a good bunch and bad bunch.

Good people....but weird people.

Bags of milk, anyone? ;)

Americans without the guns

What's a Canadian?

Very true. They got Aholes just like we do too.
We got family members who are Canadians who live in rural Alberta. So when we go up we visit a part of Canada most American tourists don't get so see.
Nice to see such an involved community with hockey being a big part of it.
On New Year's Eve my Canadian family and members of the community rent the local ice rink. Players from age 5 to 70 all toss their sticks into a pile. One guy will go through and separate into two piles with equal number of short, med , and long sticks. Everybody plays up to midnight.

Haven't really encountered many persons that I knew were from Canada.

Also, are you talking native Canadians? Or including immigrants to Canada.

For example one of my cousins married a guy from Canada and now lives there.

I expect they're much like people anywhere - a certain percentage of assholes, majority average, a few really good types.

I find Canadian expats to be less grumpy than American expats. Or maybe less standoffish is a better word, I don't know.

Uh....people that REALLY like the cold?

Basically Americans. Just Americans in denial about being Americans. But since they are Americans they are some of the greatest people on Earth by default.

My experience has been that while most Americans are benevolently ignorant about Canada, most Canadians are malevolently well-informed about America.

I like Can00kz. Being from Michigan, I speak aboot the same language eh.

Some of my best friends are Canadian. I wish we lived closer.

I love those old Canadian 'Part of Our Heritage' commercials.

This poll is of a piece with a large percentage of Canadians who are constantly looking to be validated by Americans. For some, a Canadian actor, musician, artist isn't good until recognized as good by Americans. For some, our sports teams, particularly those in American dominated leagues, are unfairly ignored. For some, we like to point out all the things we've created that Americans take for granted and adopt as their own.

It comes from being overwhelmed by a dominant culture next door that sucks the air out of everything. But we're collectively getting better and more confident in ourselves for who we are.

We always enjoy Canada. Great people. Your favorite places are also our favorite places. Banff is my wife's favorite. Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I have some great pictures of Canada from Vancouver to Quebec City.

A few months ago we were in Montreal and Quebec City. We didn't want to leave. French Canadians are very friendly. They love to to laugh.
