In support of all victims of all islamic terrorist actions, should every single media outlet, publication, and private individual start printing/posting/publishing drawings of Muhammed?

Think about it. If every single person/business/group/corporation with a facebook page, instagram, snap chat, blog, forum, and web page spent a week posting nothing but pictures of Muhammed would it make a statement?

If every single non-muslim with the means to "protest" in this way banded together and posted pictures, it would number in the billions.

Would it make any kind of difference? Would it resonate with the Muslim world at all?

A world-wide grass-roots movement to collectively say "we're not going to submit to terrorist threats" and "we fully support the freedom of speech and freedom of the press/media". Would you participate?

Is it time for every single non-Muslim to post a cartoon/drawing of Muhammed in a collective gesture of support, and defiance against violence?

Why not?They can't kill everyone.

We Australians are not American or French and this type of thing is illegal in Australia. Charlie Hedbo could not have published his trash in Australia or he would have been arrested. We have laws that make his type of trash illegal. In Australia you cannot use media to insult or humiliate people.

Do you French and Americans want to start insulting Aboriginals do you? If you have such freedom to be obnoxious then what is all the fuss over the Redskins logo?

Is attacking African Americans with media an act of freedom and artistic expression? This is what the world has come to with USA leading and France as "the capital of the world" is it? You French and Americans have the right to be offensive, obnoxious and provocative and this is freedom is it? Well not in Australia. Us Aussies disagree with your uncivilized idea of freedom.

People are murdering others for what they say, and this gets you riled up? Good grief. :doh

Humiliate someone that died 1000 years ago? Also Islam is not a race,I don't understand why are you comparing it to racism.Race is not a matter of choice.

Since when has "offensive" equalled "illegal"?

Is a drawing of something justification for violence???

Are you against freedom?

Obama thinks that this Redskin logo nonsense is a serious issue. But he also thinks that Charlie Hedbo editor is some kind of libertarian hero? Hmm. Does that make any sense?

Does Obama want these banned Warner Bros cartoons to be shown to children again? What does Obama think of cartoons like Jungle Bunnies and Jungle Fever?

If you Americans are so free to be offensive and obnoxious, then why did you ban these racist and offensive Warner Bros cartoons? Arent these cartoons works of creative expression and strikes for French-American style freedom? LIBERTY!!! Right?

FREEDOM! :)

It is in Australia and most civilized nations. Are you a fan of racist warner bros cartoons or something? You think that the cartoon 'Jungle Bunnies' is an artistic work of creative expression? Then why did America ban these cartoons?

edit- And isnt France and America encouraging bullying with this freedom propaganda?

Is it cool for children to draw offensive cartoons of unpopular classmates that they do not like? Can we do that in the workplace now? Is that what you American and French are trying to say? That bullying is cool now? Isnt Charlie Hedbo a bully? His cartoons were designed to be offensive, hurtful and provocative right? So kids that copy his behaviour will be heros? Can children draw cartoons making fun of students that are Muslim? Is that cool in America? Is that what you are trying to say? Well, I disagree and I do not think that French and American society should promote bullying or make heros out of bullies.

When I was young my mom always told me that if youve got nothing good to say then dont say anything. I think a few Muslims have become intolerant simply because they feel disrespected by the West and quite a few of their countries are occupied by Western militaries and people are dying over there.

I am assuming the OP meant mere depictions, not derogatory images.....

Everybody Draw Mohammed Day (or "Draw Mohammed Day") was an event held on May 20, 2010 in support of free speech and freedom of artistic expression of those threatened with violence for drawing representations of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. It began as a protest against censorship of an American television show, South Park, "201" by its distributor, Comedy Central, in response to death threats against some of those responsible for two segments broadcast in April 2010. Observance of the day began with a drawing posted on the Internet on April 20, 2010, accompanied by text suggesting that "everybody" create a drawing representing Muhammad, on May 20, 2010, as a protest against efforts to limit freedom of speech......

while im not agaisnt it, it seems silly for one reason. I dont think "terrorist" care
just criminals dont care drugs are illegal

what it would probably do is upset more Muslims and non-muslims that have nothing to do with terrorist then it would ever bother an actual terrorist

You have a weird definition of "bully".

Who forces people to buy Charlie Hebdo magazines and look at cartoons?

Voted "other," as the idea does not address the issue.

We have freedom of speech-you don't. And you don't have the right to not be offended.

It certainly would, though not the one you're imagining. Personally I'm entirely capable of expressing my objection to violence and terrorism without choosing to do something totally unnecessary and distasteful to a whole load of people. I also don't feel the need to suddenly need to voice my objection just because a certain class of violent terrorists are making the news at the moment.

There is a thing about freedom of speech that many people seem to have forgotten. It means you're free to choose not to say something too.

It is sad that you think of satirical pictures of Mohammed as something that should be banned/is OK to be banned. Freedom of the press is almost sacred IMHO.

so you want to punish all muslims ,good but it doesnt make you different from the radicals

The radicals are cutting off peoples heads and shooting them and blowing them up.

Are westerners doing that? Which is worse to you?
Westerners are killing people with drone strikes, bombs and gunfire- and they kill a lot more than the terrorists in France have.

I'm so torn on this issue. On the one hand, I take a "**** it, I'm sick of someone being offended all of the time" attitude. Then again, I wonder....is it wise to intentionally offend 1 billion Muslims?
