The first sentence is exclusive,
Only if read by itself and without any context. Is that what you're doing?
The first sentence is exclusive,
First it was outside... no I can't see that happening. VP, Sec. of State, absolutely. Sending Holder was ok since Holder wasn't there to march, he was there for other reasons. Having Holder march with the rest of that group would have been more insulting, so I'm glad Holder skipped it. That the VP or Sec. of State wasn't there - also insulting and begs questions that do not have answers.
Pretty Straightforward question. Do you think he should have and you can discuss why you think he didn't below explaining your answer.

The obvious response to the "should he have attended" question rests in his day planner. Did a round of golf scheduled? A fund raiser? Look...those things cant just get moved around you know. They are scheduled out days and sometimes even weeks in advance.
Obama...no...probably not. Sec of State? Absolutely.
I agree, however, he should have at least sent a high level official. Don't you think? What's up with that?
He should have sent some high profile person, yes.
Maybe Joe Biden.... but who knows what he might have said.
yeah....i guess his priorities are key
the putting green practice is a big issue if he wants to get his scores down
Obama...no...probably not. Sec of State? Absolutely.
Shame on you? I agree-this means something. Why aren't you Charlie?
He should have sent some high profile person, yes.
Maybe Joe Biden.... but who knows what he might have said.
"Why not Biden?"Don't we have Vice Presidents for a reason? Why not Biden?
Still comes back to - who cares? Why make a big deal over it? It's not even worth a small deal.
Certainly won't change anything.
"Why not Biden?"
Come on...do you really have to ask?
Virtually every leader who did attend is oppressing journalists at home, to a greater or lesser degree. The world leaders' presence was an exercise in cynicism. Maybe better not to go.
Did you fly to Paris to march or are you able to 'be Charlie' without actually marching?
He's the VP. Like it or not.
It's always a roll of the dice with JoJo, but he could've sent Kerry.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't make any difference who was there for the rally. But just like any kind of pep rally or show of solidarity, a march like the one in Paris does have an emotional impact and does promote a unified statement of what is and what is not acceptable or tolerable in the world. So when I saw that photo of all those national leaders arm in arm, I wished America had been represented there.

Mornin MGOP. :2wave: I have mixed thoughts about this. Like some have mentioned, being the Leader of the Free World. One would think he would appear with all those Leaders that showed up. I do think he should have at the very least had Kerry show up. Biden would have been a little better and more of acknowledgement. This would have been the better move to make than just have the US Ambassador attend.
But, here we have all the Leaders of the West. All in one place and at one time. Now I am sure all have their security there to, and the French with all kinds of Policy and security out and about.
Yet all it would have taken.....is one incident with a bomb, or a sniper and we could have been without these Leaders. And if that would have happened. We would still Have one Leader left. To take up the call and do what needs to be done.
