Yeah I think so to your average person it is. Western leftism is my favorite ideology though. It melds between racism and non racism, traditionalism and non traditionalism, hierarchy and anti hierarchy, and so so much more. It's pure duality of morals and beliefs and views that only a native Westerner could truly understand to make sense out of it. Which is why I like it all the more. It's essentially an ideology that requires a very conservative person initially in order to control and deal internally with its deep moral duality.

You can be moral with leftism but it requires a studied, already ideologically sound and deep individual, which naturally precludes most people. The brash truth is your average conservative person or liberal person "can't hack" the duality of a Marxist-Esq Leftism. They need things to be red or blue. They can't mentally accept the racism, the traditionalism all combined with the social leftism and economic leftism of Marxism. It's too much for your average person to intake. They'll combust and come to the conclusion that it's merely nihilism or racism or some other easily describable phenomena.

I think liberals are more likely to be moral relativists, which some people confuse with moral nihilism.

This thread is about the left. :2wave:

I know, people like to try to differentiate the two all the time. But there's no left without the right, and this case they are but two sides of the same coin.

Exactly, why can't people understand that when someone starts a thread with a loaded poll, they are not looking for any objective answers. Seems pretty obvious so I am not sure why some people have such a hard time with it.

Everyone is a moral relativist. Just some people like to think they aren't.

The thread is about the left, try and focus.

I am a socially liberal person. I am also a father and husband. I try to be a good and moral person and like most people I am guided by my conscience. That is true of most people regardless of their politics. Threads like this one are nothing but thinly veiled ignorant hate mongering.

I dont think you are a bad person. I asked if the left exhibits moral nihilism. Think back, have you met anyone that does?

If you want to discuss morality, start with parenting and not with political leanings. Who even cares to vote in this farce of a poll?

To my knowledge no I haven't as there are very few moral nihilists out there. The vast majority of people are moral relativists. Granted, a lot of people will not admit to being a moral relativist, but those same people will engage in moral relativism as soon as they try to defend a historical figure they venerate against modern moral criticisms.

Why do you think the left exhibit's moral nihilism?

No socialist, its based off the desire to have an honest discussion about the left. :2wave:

Any thread you start is never "honest" . Hell all you have to do is look at your signature...
