And the lefty squad hates Christmas but wouldn't outright vote for as much. Who saw that coming?

But they have no idea why they hate it.

Like everything else they are told to.

I mean when the deep insight is "he's as full of **** as...."

You know you aren't yet in double digit IQ territory

I'm not saying it was good or bad, right or wrong, just that it happened. That's the history behind most of our supposed "Christian" holidays. They were stolen from some other religion.

I agree.

I was just working off your point to make some fun

Virtually everyone does, Christmas is an almost entirely secular holiday. Most people celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday. Haven't you figured that out yet?

Show us the numbers.

Now that's an excellent example of "progressives" presenting intelligent insight on a topic, real thought provoking stuff!

When you have had a successful career as a lecturer, author, interviewer, filmmaker, and philosopher you can offer an "informed" opinion that people will listen to. But this proves the intellectual vacuum from which the Obama groveling lemmings stem is deep, vast and as empty as the collective heads of the gathered entities.

"probably more..."

Great stuff!

So he's famously full of ****. He fronted that fraudulent creationist movie crap which misquoted scientists to "disprove" evolution, didn't he? He has zero credibility with any thinking being.

No.

Is this about your resentments about Ben Stein, far, far more intelligent than you, or about the true meaning of Christmas?

I don't really want to even see any more personal attacks on famous people by left wing, uninformed radicals. You guys are boring

Show us the numbers.

Go look for yourself. Go to any big store, count the percentage of religious decorations compared to secular decorations. Drive down any street. Count how many houses have lights and wreaths compared to how many have only nativity scenes.

No.

Thanks for confirming my comment.

Nope, not a spokesman. Just a man who watches the news and understands statistics.

So just because some people shop for Christmas, means the birth of our Lord And Savior loses all meaning for everyone? Is that what you are trying to say?

That's one of the most retarded things I've ever heard. And considering I've been around political forums for quite a while, that's really saying something.

How do you have secular Christmas decorations? You really didn't think that through, did you?

When people shop in the manner that we do at Christmas, driven by greed and consumerism, at the cost of our civil and kindly interaction with our fellow man, i think that goes counter to the religious reasons for Christmas. Can't tranmple people in a rush for deals and claim you're keeping the Christ in Christmas. Pretty sure Jesus wouldn't want you to treat your neighbor with neglectful apathy as such.

Which proves nothing about Christmas celebrations. And no, I mean go down most streets. Pick a variety of areas of the country and do it. You know I'm right.

It means nothing. Most people put up stuff for kids anyway.

I'm confused why Ben Stein chose to use the word "saved" and then says: "This is why Christmas is such a joyous time for people, whether Jews...".

That doesn't make sense to me. Since when do Jewish people believe in being saved? Isn't that purely Christian?

Edit:

And I voted no because, while Christmas has religious ideals behind it, I find Christmas to be about love, generosity, and selflessness.

I just witnessed a woman, all decked out for a party, cut off a man with a cane in the super market, and when called on it [he almost fell] she failed to apologize, merely explained "I'm only rushing because I'm in a hurry!" and chuckled.

She did wish the man "Merry Christmas" however.

A simple yes or no would've sufficed. Not everyone does that, and in fact I bet the majority of people who do aren't Christians. Black Friday incidents like you describe are isolated. The majority of shopping done during the Christmas season is done peacefully. You are officially making **** up. Color me unsurprised.

Its done in mass, its done to extremes, and about the only time people remotely think of others is when they pass a red kettle. That's on whole and you can see this by then effects on the economy for the Christmas season.

As for "most of them aren't Christian", that's BS. This is a Christian Nation, the vast majority of people are Christian, there are not enough " non-christians" to make up those huge crowds storming doors and trampling their fellow man.

I see people helping others all the time during Black Friday events. A large group of people between them and a product? Ask the customers to pass down the item or politely ask if they can give some room to allow them to get it. Even during the "rush" moments, I see plenty of laughing and smiles.

I've never witnessed anyone get trampled while shopping, and neither have you.

That's cause I use Amazon. But there are plenty of videos.

Exactly. These "trampling" incidents are extremely rare, and certainly not the norm. I don't recall even hearing about any this year.

So much for faith in statistics.....

Statistics requires no faith.

Now maybe we can address the type of questions asked so that you can learn what constitutes a direct answer. I was responding to a comment that said I have never seen anyone trampled. Now that's not a fundamental question of statistics, but k e of absolute measurement. Do you know the difference? And to his point, he is right, I haven't seen anyone trampled. Not because people don't get trampled in these events, but rather because I don't go to them. However, I don't need to observe it first hand since there are measurements (video).

Hence to counter the claim that I myself have never witnessed it, all I have to do is point to one instance of it happening. And there are plenty of videos.

This has been your free lesson in aggregate vs. absolute. You're welcome.
