As of now, 58% think what Sony did 'reflects badly on America'?

So what if they had released it and some ex-North Korean whacko shot a bunch of moviegoers dead?

These same people would little doubt be screaming how horrible and irresponsible it was for Sony to release the movie.



A Japanese company not releasing a film primarily about North Korea that is co-starring/co-written by a Canadian reflects badly on America?

I would even like them better for not being intimidated and standing up for their own free speech....
Free speech and freedom is one thing I am willing to die for as far as this country goes.

I thought it was the major movie studio chains that refused to show it. Sony, my understanding was, left the decision up to the theaters who took the safe way out, not wanting to hurt their busy Christmas season sales.
 
I have already seen the movie review in IGN so I guess there were already a lot of copies sent to multiple places, let alone the films in the theaters. Even if Sony officially cancels it forever, someone will eventually release it. But the latest news says that some theaters will carry on the film regardless of the potential attacks. I have no idea if the security costs are too much or the price of the ticket is raised. Just wait and see.

It was funny watching the free-speechers trooping in for a second helping of Christmas turkey, defiantly hiding their faces from the cameras.
 
I don't think they should have cancelled it, but I put "Meh" because it was clearly understandable.

No, Sony should not have canceled, for the same reason we don't negotiate with terrorists - the more we let them get away with, the more they will do to force us to do what they want us to do.

I had to vote, "Other." Once again, another poll that excludes so many of us because of commentary. The actions by Sony reflect badly not on the US, but all that do well living in lands of liberty and freedom. Sony erred in their decision to pull the movie. They backed down to tyranny.
