When I vote for a candidate, I do not vote for their family. When I vote for a candidate, I am not voting based on what they look like. I would recommend to the OP to worry about actual issues, and not things that have no bearing on how good a president either would be.

And the schizophrenic owner of Dooziers Bait Shop outside out off of Carpenter Dam Road that was the source of such rumors...

I think the women whom he had picked up were the actual source. And it's long been proven, not rumor.

Are you saying that using White House Doctors for "Xanax Trips" is not something to be concerned about?

Those doctors could be helping people out on the street!

Heh, I'd be worried if it were the POTUS doing it, like JFK.

I'd be worried period if we had drug addicted people with arrest records utilizing White House doctors. My oh my.

Then you were mighty worried for some time now. Just off the top of my head there was JFK, Pat Nixon, Nancy Reagan, Bill Clinton (he may not have been addicted), probably the second George Bush. I'm pretty sure none of them have a problem getting their hands on prescription drugs.

I do not think family scandals and criminal activities necessarily matter, unless he uses his family picture as the postcard of the ideal family, but here they are for Jeb Bush:

His wife: Arrested from trying to sneak in $20,000 of undeclared jewelry she bought out of the USA to avoid import taxes, claiming she was bringing a total of less than $500 in goods.

Son, John Ellis Bush at 21: Arrested for resisting arrest and public intoxication.

Another son: Jeb’s eldest, George Prescott Bush, was caught in 1994 breaking into the home of his Jewish girlfriend, then destroying property maliciously.

Daughter: Arrested for Xanax. The daughter of the then governor was given a pass from the felony charge. She was convicted, but the case retroactively dismissed.

The youngest son, John “Jebby” Bush, got charged with having sex in a parking lot in 2000.

Jeb Bush is not squeeky clean and having a brother as president sure helped him out.

Remember the huge S&L crash that cost taxpayers millions.

For example, there was Jeb Bush's theft of $4,000,000 from taxpayers - defaulting on a scam loan of $4.5 million and working a deal to only repay $500,000 - thus him pocketing $4 million pay for out of the treasury/FDIC. The government also paid for his building in the deal.

Jeb Bush had a role in yet another Savings and Loan fiasco when he defaulted on a loan from Broward Federal Savings and Loan (LaFraniere , 1990: A24). Broward Federal loaned $4,565.000 to J Edward Houston, a real developer in February, 1985. The loan was secured only by Houston’s personal guarantee. On the same day, one of Houston’s company lent the same amount to a partnership made up of Jeb Bush and Armondo Codina for the purpose of purchasing a building in Miami. The Bush-Condina partnership was required to repay the loan only if revenues from the building were sufficient to cover the repayment. Bush and Condina made no payments on the loan at all and in 1987 Houston defaulted on the Broward Federal loan and the Bank sued both Houston and the Bush-Condina real estate partnership. In a sweetheart settlement with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Bush and Codina only had to repay $500,000 of the $4.5 million loan and got to retain ownership of the building which had been the collateral on the loan. In 1991, the FDIC sued the officers and directors of Broward Federal charging that the loan ultimately used by Bush and Codina was an example of the bank’s negleient lending practices (Frisby, 1992: G1). The Bush-Codina loan played a key part in the failure of Broward Federal which cost taxpayers $285 million (LaFraniere , 1990: A24).

For years, Jeb Bush moved back and forth in business dealings between the USA, Mexico and South America. For at least $1 million in contributions and $75,000 to his company while he was Governor, on behalf of a racketeer and Medicare fraudster, Jeb Bush used his influence and personally vouching for the criminal as "a good citizen and good Republican" to obtain waivers on Medicare payments (and frauds).

Jeb Bush’s, the current Governor of Florida, curious relationship with Miguel Recarey is another illustration. Recarey was a long-time business associate of Tampa organized crime figure Santos Trafficante. Recarey also fled the U.S. facing three separate indictments for labor racketeering, illegal wiretapping and Medicare fraud (Freedburg, 1988: A1). Recarey’s business, International Medical Centers, was the largest health maintenance organization for the elderly in the U.S. and had been supported from $1 billion in payments from the Medicare program. International Medical Centers went bankrupt in 1988 (Freedburg, 1988: A1; Royce and Shaw, 1988: 4). When International Medical Centers went under it left $222 million in unpaid bills and was under investigation for $100 million in Medicare fraud (Freedbrug, 1988: A1; Frisby, 1992: G1). The U.S. Office of Labor Racketeering in Miami referred to Recarey and his company as “the classic case of embezzlement of government funds ... “a bust-out operation” (Freedburg, 1988: A1)

Jeb Bush’s role in this saga being in 1985 when Recarey’s attempt to create his “bust-out scam” corporation ran into a federal regulation that said no HMO could get more that 50% of its revenue from Medicare (Freedburg, 1988: A1; Royce and Shaw, 1988: 4). Jeb Bush intervened on Recarey’s behalf with Helath Human Services Secretary Margaret Heckler and one of her top aides. Convincing them to waive the regulation in the case of Recarey’s company (Freedburg, 1988: A1; Royce and Shaw, 1988: 4). In addition to Jeb Bush’s intervention, Recarey had paid $1 million to senior Republican lobbyists in Washington, who were also working the staff of Health and Human Services in pursuance of a waiver (Freedburg, 1988: A1; Royce and Shaw, 1988: 4). In addition, Jeb Bush had contacted Secretary Heckler earlier about complaints from doctors over the quality of International Medical Centers’ care and allegations that Recarey had embezzled funds form another hospital (Royce and Shaw, 1988: 4). Jeb Bush told an aide to Secretary Heckler that “contrary to any rumors that were floating around concerning Mr. Recarey, that he was a solid citizen from Mr. Bush’s perspective down there [in Miami], that he was a good community citizen and a good supporter of the Republican Party” (Royce and Shaw, 1988: 4).

Not surprisingly, in 1988 Recarey’s company gave Jeb Bush’s real estate company $75,000 to help it find a site for a new corporate headquarters (Freedburg, 1988: A1; Royce and Shaw, 1988: 4). It was a bad investment because International Medical Centers had already selected a corporate headquarters location when it hired Jeb Bush (Royce and Shaw, 1988: 4).

In general, the ENTIRE Bush family is EXTREMELY corrupt and uses their political positions and contacts - AND EACH OTHER - to steal every way possible - mostly from the government.

Having parents that are wealthy by theft and fraud, it no surprise the kids would figure they could get away with about anything - and in fact in court their kids do all get very special favorable treatment.

According to retired US Admiral:

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and those are the ones you have to focus on" – GW Bush
"You have to look at the entire Bush Family in this context -- as if the family ran a corporation called ‘Frauds-R-Us,’
George Jr.’s specialty was insurance and security fraud.
Jeb’s specialty was oil and gas fraud.
Neil’s specialty was real estate fraud.
Prescott’s specialty was banking fraud.
And George Sr.’s specialty? All of the above." -- Lt. Cmdr. Al Martin, US Navy,(Ret)

This is very interesting about nice guy Jeb Bush:

International Medical Centers

The Jeb Bush Connection
This is a murky story with connections to the Nicaraguan Contras, the Mafia, Cuban-American terrorists, Iran-Contra, bribery and corruption, coverups and the CIA. Essentially, IMC was contracted to give medical assistance to the Nicaraguan Contras but the story is in fact, a lot more complex and gives you some idea of just how inter-connected events really are, especially when you’re dealing the Bush clan. Perhaps this review of a book by Duncan Campbell The Bush Dynasty and the Cuban Criminal, will give you some idea:

"The Bush family connections go back to 1984 when Jeb Bush began a close association with Camilo Padreda, a former intelligence officer with the Batista dictatorship overthrown by Fidel Castro.

Jeb Bush was then the chairman of the Dade county Republican party and Padreda its finance chairman. Padreda had earlier been indicted on a $500,000 (£320,000) embezzlement charge along with a fellow exile, Hernandez Cartaya, but the charges were dropped, reportedly after the CIA stated that Cartaya had worked for them.

Padreda later pleaded guilty to defrauding the housing and urban development department of millions of dollars during the 1980s.

The president's younger brother was also on the payroll in the 80s of the prominent Cuban exile Miguel Recarey, who had earlier assisted the CIA in attempts to assassinate President Castro.

Recarey, who ran International Medical Centers (IMC), employed Jeb Bush as a real estate consultant and paid him a $75,000 fee for finding the company a new location, although the move never took place, which raised questions at the time. Jeb Bush did, however, lobby the Reagan/Bush administration vigorously and successfully on behalf of Recarey and IMC. "I want to be very wealthy," Jeb Bush told the Miami News when questioned during that period.

In 1985, Jeb Bush acted as a conduit on behalf of supporters of the Nicaraguan contras with his father, then the vice-president, and helped arrange for IMC to provide free medical treatment for the contras.

Recarey was later charged with massive medicare fraud but fled the US before his trial and is now a fugitive.

Jeb Bush sealed his popularity with the Cuban exile community by acting as campaign manager for another prominent Cuban-American, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, when she ran successfully for Congress.

George Bush Sr famously appeared with her during her campaign in Miami declaring: "I am certain in my heart I will be the first American president to step foot on the soil of a free and independent Cuba."

She has since lobbied successfully for the release of several exiles convicted of terrorist offences held in US jails but who now live freely in Miami.

Most controversially, at the request of Jeb, Mr Bush Sr intervened to release the convicted Cuban terrorist Orlando Bosch from prison and then granted him US residency.

According to the justice department in George Bush Sr's administration, Bosch had participated in more than 30 terrorist acts. He was convicted of firing a rocket into a Polish ship which was on passage to Cuba. He was also implicated in the 1976 blowing-up of a Cubana plane flying to Havana from Venezuela in which all 73 civilians on board were killed.

CIA memorandums strongly suggest, according to Bardach's book, that Bosch was one of the conspirators, and quotes the then secretary of state, Henry Kissinger, as writing that the "US government had been planning to suggest Bosch's deportation before Cubana airlines crash took place for his suspected involvement in other terrorist acts and violation of his parole".

Bosch's release, often referred to in the US media as a pardon, was the result of pressure brought by hardline Cubans in Miami, with Jeb Bush serving as their point man. Bosch now lives in Miami and remains unrepentant about his militant activities, according to Bardach.

In July this year, Jeb Bush nominated Raoul Cantero, the grandson of Batista, as a Florida supreme court judge despite his lack of experience. Mr Cantero had previously represented Bosch and acted as his spokesman, once describing Bosch on Miami radio as a "great Cuban patriot"".

Jeb Bush as Governor of Florida gets his brother Neil $20,000,000 of Florida's money.

The Silverado Savings and Loan Scandal
The savings and loans crashes of the 1980s, themselves directly the result of Reagan’s deregulation of the banking industry, is more interesting because of how it reflects the rapacious nature of unbridled capitalism than of Neil Bush himself. Who by the way, is now embroiled in another scam with his latest venture, educational software, Ignite (turnover $20 million, much of it from educational subsidies obtained in the state of Florida ,where, ‘coincidentally’ of course, his bro Jeb, is governor).

Altogether, it’s been calculated that bailing out the failed S&Ls countrywide cost the US taxpayer around $1.4 trillion.

Same source as above.

Jeb Bush's background is a very curious one. Continual business partners and dealings with the Miami Cuban mafia in Medicare fraud, S&L frauds, various thefts from the government, money laundering, interactions with the Contras, and filtering/laundering money of the deposed Batista regime, with Jeb Bush often traveling back and forth between Florida, Mexico and South America.
Millions of his money was made by defaulting on S&L money, loans etc - that the government (taxpayers) picked up the tabs on.

They're all low in character but surely there must be a certain standard of a prospective POTUS not having an openly "pill popping @ Walgreen's" daughter?

Can we not at least have basic standards?

Jesus Christ she's posing as "Doctor Noelle" for Xanax @ Walgreen's..

Can we at least elect competent criminals to run our country?
"Bush appeared very shaky during interview, but calmed considerably after being placed under arrest," one of the arresting officers said in his report.

The Walgreen's pharmacist, Carlos Zimmerman, told police he had received two messages on the store's voicemail from someone identifying herself as "Dr. Noelle Scidmore." The caller left a detailed prescription for Xanax for Noelle Bush.

Bush told police she was supposed to start a new job this morning.

The Clintons.

But that's not why Jeb Bush won't be moving into the White House.

The Clintons do look very Hollywood, don't they. Almost Camelot.

Almost two years until the election...and already the nonsense has started.

American politics sucks.

We have every right to debate the merits of publicly elected officials whether you can stomach it or not.
